Morning Smudger
Woodman wasnt that bad though was he ? Steady Eadie decent defender ,a bit average who didnt bomb forward .Then comes along Biddy , too good for this league and ticks all the boxes an erect Uwe could wish for . Barron according to fans who have seen him in many games isnt that great at getting forward , shows the winger the best way to go and can get brushed over by a light wind . Shame the ex Liverpool bloke got injured in the friendly
Hypnotise the lot of 'em !

I think there's a lot of romaticsm about Biddy.
Yes a very good player.
Best Left back since Dickson and has the potential to go higher.
Could cross, pass, run and tackle comfortably in this division but still very early days in Jake's football career.
Vignal's injury record is terrible.
No more than 30 games for any of his 6 or 7 clubs.
That wouldn't fill anyone with confidence.
Some fans are judging Barron way too early and that's not helpful.
Probably the same fans who judged Osborne too early and ended up eating their insulting words.
SB out.
KO back,no thanks. Give Barron a chance FFS. One OK. next game, not so good. He's not match fit, judge him after 8 games. He did OK in the first half against Yeovil. Not good, but OK. He wasn't the only one who underachieved against Yeovil. Wall fans are judging him on Championship standards, not L1. "Wonder what they would say about the rest of our team judged against Championship standards. Let's not kill off a player so soon, have seen it happen too many times over 33 years. Re Craig, yes one hell of cock up to provide Yeovil with their first goal, but when tracking back with one of their forwards and taking the ball of him he had time to look up and see if Moore could take the back pass rather than hoof it into row Z, haven't seen that at our level for quite some time. I've seen some overreaction on this board over the years but the crap I have read about Uwe and some of the team is amazing, to say the least. As abee used to say................ stand back and wait for the abuse !!
If I have a problem with the club, I'll write to the club, or phone them.
If I have a problem with players performances, I'll take some considered time to judge them.
I seem to recall Bidwell's debut wasn't stunning.
Way too early to tell if Bidwell will have a stunning career at any level

My main worry about this signing is from the scouting situation,I am not sure if l assumed that Barron was recommended by Craig that would be far from the truth.Hope he turns out ok but if he doesn't he has to be put down as a bad signing something that happens at all clubs and that position could be filled by a loanee or Redwood.Charlton signed about 20 odd players last season not all of those were successfull.Really hope if he plays tommorrow he puts in a good shift as we can't afford another Tuesday night performance from him.
Bidwell will be a top level player (not wise after the event, posted that here first time I saw him play) and I firmly believe will skipper a top level team and possibly, given the usual dearth of decent left footed players in this country, may well play for the full England team. He is already far better than Dickson ever was. Give the Millwall pair time I agree but I fear both Barron and Craig may prove mistakes, perhaps expensive ones if the conjecture/guessing re fees/wages is anywhere near the mark. I'll say it again, i'm entirely unconvinced by Uwe and his scouting staff but am very open to be proven wrong.
Seriously, I agree with all your points bar this one, Bidwell is a real player who was learning his trade and brilliant to watch, towards the end of last season he did what youngsters tend to do and threw in one or two mistakes, that Sheff Utd goal where he got dragged into CB, colided with another and left Ched Evans all the time in the world to fire home for example, Bidwell will play at a much higher level than Dickson without doubt but he wasn't as quick going forward or as much of threat in and around the oppo's box. Bidwell was a better crosser of a ball and found space well, Dickson was a forager who created havoc and space for others, two different players but I wouldn't say that Bidwell was better at this stage on last season's showing. This is all in my opinion and we were blessed to see two real talents at LB in such a short space of time, Barron has a lot to live up to as we have been spoilt. I'm sure you'll disagree.

Vote BLUNSTONE - maybe out of touch but closer than what we already have.
If Barron plays like Tuesday night again I'm getting my boots out and going down for a trial.
Thanks - but I can pay my own way even on my pension.

............Sorry but thought he had another poor game............
.....The few who do,are the envy of the many who only watch.................
Will be interesting to see their goal again which came from down Barron's side. I don't think he had much of a pre-season though, so he deserves a few games to get up to the required level. No point writing him off yet.
No problem first half at all. 2nd half he got caught for the goal. He's not that bad. I expected another Mark Fleming or Mark Hill. You lot are too harsh....![]()
When life gives you a 100 reasons to cry, show life that you have a 1000 reasons to smile
In my opinion at fault for the CRewe goal but overall had an OK game, I am hoping that he improves with game time and that at present he is rusty, would imagine he is awre more than most of his failings and is aware that the spotlight is oin him, perhpas if he has a solid game away next week he might find it easier.
Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please.
