Why not give the guy a chance ?, he's still settling in to our style of play. He's played in the Championship, something quite a few of our players have never done.

Football is not a matter of life or death, it's more important than that.
Agree in principle with what you say however, I dont think the style of play is the issue. Unfortunately he appears to be lacking in many of the basic requirements of the position and I cannot see that improving. Accept its early days but although I have not been overly impressed with Craig I can see there is something about him and expect him to step up. I do not get that feeling with Barron. Add him to the list of Grella etc etc
It was just one of those things....
Vote BLUNSTONE - maybe out of touch but closer than what we already have.
Exactly matches my thoughts. A defender that doesn't like to tackle rarely changes with time, experience or increased familiarity with system/colleagues. He could increase body strength, but I suspect the problem is psychological rather than physical. I doubt whether strong challenges will ever be in his mind set.
There was a telling incident right at the end of Saturdays game in the far right hand corner of the pitch when Jake Bidwell made what would have been a fairly crunching sliding challenge (if their player hadn't half jumped out of the way) and put the ball into touch from a position where the winger would normally have been favourite to come out on top.
I wasn't watching Uwe at that point, but I can well imagine him smiling knowingly at the difference between the two players.
That said at present we only have Bidwell for a month so we might have to get used to Barron and give him some slack.
Not in the inner circle so can only give opinion not fact.
I suspect that the loan was provisionally for a month as a precaution in case baines suddenly left at the end of the window. Would expect it to be extended to a full season soon enough ( thats if Jake wants to!)
Barron is a bit of a strange one. On paper he was a very good signing but it just hasn't happened. Can't write him off just yet as there could be a whole host of reasons why he isn't playing well- unfit, not used to the style e.tc, but in the games I've seen of him he isn't up to much. Even against Crewe he didnt play particularly well which is concerning when we thrashed them! The fact that he's been subbed 3 out of 4 appearances says a lot. Bidwell should start on Saturday and Legge should start instead of Craig. We have to stop shedding goals through defensive errors.
Wembley!!!!!.....lets pretend it never happened

I think Bidwell's loan will be extended to January where I have a sneaky feeling he will then sign permanently as I believe JB's contract is up at Everton next summer. Barron will probably play backup (in case of injuries, JPT etc) and it will be up to Barron to earn his first team starting slot. I have a feeling that Barron will probably move on at the end of the season if JB does sign in Jan as he will be "surplus to requirements".
I think realistically Barron has now till end of Jan to prove he is worth a place in Uwe starting eleven.
May I refer to Hamer v Lee as a previous example that it can be done.
If I was Barron, and had not got in the team by Jan (I know very early to talk about hypothetical situations like this) I would look to move to somewhere like Orient, a change of scenery may be just what he needs.
By then that Left Back in the development squad should be able to step up as cover, saving us a decent wedge (I imagine Barron is on a fair bit) which we can spend to reinforce in Jan
Unbelievable! 4 games in and already people on here are talking about shipping him out to other clubs. I pray that he doesn't read the GPG as his confidence, if he has any left after the constant barrage of abuse he's getting from certain quarters, will be shot to pieces. FFS is it too much to ask for Brentford fans to get behind a team that, other than a blip against Yeovil, have looked a quality side this season, or do we always have to look for the negative element?
Think most would like him to be a success as he is our player however Bidwell seems to have started as he finished last season and therefore is a better bet to start the game
The loan may be extended or not either way Baron will be able to impress the management in training or dev squad games. At the end of the day if we have the chance to get Budwell on loan for the season it will stregthen our team and if a permanent deal were to occur then we would have a player with potential sell on value
At present it is a no brainer Bidwell to start and Baron to force his way in or become a forgotten player, ball pretty well in his court
Your use of the word abuse does concern me, as I have not personally seen any abuse directed at Barron. What I have seen is a number of honest assessments by members of the GPG of which some have been positive, but unfortunately the majority have been negative, entirely linked to his performances on the pitch. I may not agree with all that is said on here but I respect everyone's right to have their own view. I would argue that it is because everyone is passionate about BFC and are behind the team that in some areas they want change. I cannot see the point of pretending everything is perfect when it is not. As long as negative views are aired in a constructive way, with nothing personal attached I dont see the problem. There have been numerous situations/players/managers in the past where this has been the case, Barron has been treated no different nor should be.
It was just one of those things....
I must say that the day the old Bessotted fans forum was shut down was a sad day. Too many on the GPG are negative doommongers and will always look for something to say to that is in no way constructive. I'm sure Scott Barron is aware of his shortcomings since joining the club, I'm certain that UR will have pointed them out to him. My Old Gran always used to say that if you have nothing good to say keep your mouth shut and I think this definitely applies here. Of course everyone has a right to air their views, but if they truly want the best for BFC, surely constantly having a go at one of our signed players is only likely to result in a negative outcome. Or do they really believe that by shouting you're sh*t Barron as he gets substituted will make him sit and think "ah actually that guy has a point.....I must try harder next week if I'm lucky enough to be picked"!!!
Come on guys. Look up the word supporters in the dictionary and tell me what it means.

The Beesotted message board is still alive and kicking. Just 'google' it.

Yeah but it's not the same as it was. When you could have banter with opposition fans. I always found that the banter was humorous and in general positive, except for the few trolls that regularly popped up.
Looking at the Millwall fans' forums I suspect that Barron would feel that the GPG was pretty tame in comparison!
Tell you what, guarantee me between £100-£130K per year for 3 years and people can call me whatever they want once a week for 90 minutes!
