So you want us to score first every match and it to be Donaldson who scores it. Yeah right! So is a striker only good if they score important goals? Jeez, wonder how much they cost then
This is football and anything can happen. Saturday we were two nil down and Donaldson rescued a point for us.
IIRC 11 goals and 12 assists last season. Not bad considering. Already he's got 4 in 4 and long may it continue I don't see why not.
The more chances he gets the more likely he will score. At least he is getting chances than not getting nothing at all. All it will take is one, one on one to go in and that could give him the confidence to score more. Lots of times last season Clayton was the only one up top and he was doing all the work, trying so hard to create a chance by himself. Thank heavens his all round play is top notch otherwise we would have been truly stuffed. Confidence is a major thing especially for a striker. Also we need goals from elsewhere, take the weight of Donaldson. Midfielders need to be chipping in with more goals.

This very valid point is deemed as unimportant because the match was already won...

Similar to CD's 2nd against Crewe which is also deemed unimportant.

If Clayton scores 4 in 3 for the rest of the season then I don't really give a shit what else he does or doesn't do

(within reason before the pedants sense blood)

Donaldson will get 23 or more this year, plus lots of assists and he'll miss some total howlers. I'll take that as that's just what he is.

I hope you're right, I think CD is a superb player to watch, there will be times when most have given up on him and he'll throw in a MK away performance to shove it up us. I think I had at least 3 occaisions where I'd had enough of him last season but he always sorted that out, I hate hiders, he isn't one.
Vote BLUNSTONE - maybe out of touch but closer than what we already have.

He doesn't go hiding that's for sure. Had a stinker first 45 against Yeovil but came out for a great second half. Just a shame someone wrestled the ball off him for the penalty. If CD put away the majority of his chances he'd be at a much higher level. You'll always get 100% from him and every time he scores it kinda makes you feel really double pleased its him on the score sheet. Or is that just me?

Remember Barnett last season when he had an absolute mare ( along with others!!) yet he never hid and was always available. Frustrating ?? Yes but you got to luv a trier ( subject to having some success before people mention Murray Jones!!)

Not all all, and while I've never met him or heard from anyone who has he's one of those players that I want to do well. He has polarised opinion and I've been ready to give up on him and concede he was a 4th division player mid season but then he produces moments of pure genius and will score a fantastic goal that rank alongside the best comparing with those from Big John, White boots, Deano, Bliss et al.

I don't think he's consistent enough and I don't think he's guaranteed a starting place regardless. I believe Hayes has an important part to play as a very intelligent player who will be a real asset but just struggle why anybody really believes CD should be dropped after 4/4.

I still think his best position is as a wide midfield player. He has the lungs to get up and down and I reckon he'd score a fair few from there too. Striker he isn't although he does well enough. However, this would be in a traditional 4-4-2 and not using a diamond. So as he wouldn't get picked we'll just have to put up with a goal a game ratio

Good call. If Uwe wanted to revert to 442, I think the team " could" look like this....

    Moore
    Logan Dean Craig Bidwell

    Saunders Douglas Forshaw Donaldson

    Hayes Farid
Football is not a matter of life or death, it's more important than that.
