    Orient match reports

    Same old

Have majority possession and shots. Zero goals.

I keep asking myself are we good enough to go up?

Look at the team player by player in the Coppell era.

Maybe only 2-3 would get into the team. So why is that the case? The mangers fault? Or the budget?

Incredibly disappointing! we had the whole game and to be fair didnt create enough clear cut chances.
Orient are absolute shite and this was daylight robbery.
Hayes for El-Alagui was a huge mistake.
We are just not ruthless enough.

I think Sam Saunders thought he was in a hair gel commercial rather than a football match!!! Uwe the german tinker man pathethic!!!

To all thoose who went there please learn your lesson and don't go again

Right assuming most of us were able to watch the game one way or another my observations.

Uwe got his selection wrong from the start in terms of the forward line, benching Farid and puttin in a half fit looking Hayes was bad enough. That he compounded that by waiting until the 80th minute to replace the laboured and lumbering Hayes was very poor. Craig had a poor game and against a poweder puff Orient attack still managed to look like a full back being asked to play at centre half. Carded for a clumsy foul and looke like an accident waiting to happen. Harry looked our most creative player and though tiring surely worth leaving on as well as putting Saunders on.

When belatedly Farid did arrive he looked purposeful and had a couple of half chances.

Douglas and Dave and Forshaw did well first half in totally dominating the pedestrian O's midfield in the first half. We looked pretty without creating anything, CD had a decent shot parried by an impressive O's keeper. Second half was more even but Hayes and CD were totally anonymous.

O's goal was scrappy and undoubtedly Offside.

Orient were rubbish, we were in control for 70% of the match and didn't make it count. Once again it pains me to say it but poor selection decisions from Rosler.

On this evidence we won't be going up.

Hayes will be good against better quality teams were we need someone to hold the ball up front, today was not the day we needed him against a proper shite Orient team. Farid looked more lively in his 8 minutes than Hayes 82.

A real let down by Uwe tonight

He hasn't just said that has he? Hayes was poor but the bigger question is why was he playing? Decision to leave out Farid was unreal

Interesting to see some of the opinions. For me, it's hard to see what we did wrong other than fail to take chances. They had one shot on target and it went in. I'd be worried if we weren't creating chances but we are. There is a bagload of games to go. Don't panic.

    God that was disappointing.

We played pretty football for much of the first half and were in total control but didn't create enough clear cut chances. The stats are misleading, we may have had lots of shots but rarely did we create a genuine goal scoring opportunity. Second half was much more even, Dave and Douglas disappeared, Hayes managed to contribute less than he had in the first half and Donaldson did a bit of good work outside of the box but was too often powder puff when it mattered.

Why Hayes replaced Farid I've no idea, but as others have said, it was a mistake and Hayes has much work to do to persuade me he should start in front of either of the other two front men. We can have all the possession in the world but what we do with it is what matters and I'm still concerned that we're not doing enough with the ball to really hurt teams. How many guilt edge chances did we create/miss today ? Not many, Hayes air shot from three yards out being one and his other effort which was blocked in the first half being another. Donaldson's powder puff shot at the end being the only other I can remember.
Any idiot can face a crisis. It's the day to day living that wears you down.

Surely Rosler hasn't just said Hayes was excellent - he was appalling, contributed nothing.

That is the conclusion I make from this game.

So at least we know where to improve from now.
We do, but I dont think our manager does, no excuses its his side now.

Over reaction after a disappointing defeat, regardless of how well or otherwise Hayes played we didn't win because we didn't take out chances.
We had all the possession and were comfortable in all areas all game although their scorer gave Harlee a tough few minutes.
Their goal was offside, we played good football with no end product, deserved to win and we'll play worse and win this
season so not shouting for Uwes head although hope he's still after a finisher.
