I think there are 11 very good players there.
Getting them to play as an enthused and motivated unit for more than half a game seems to be a problem.
But we have the sixth best goals conceded record in the division. Furman was man of the match for South Africa in midweek. Wesolowski is a real gritty midfielder. Montano has improved with every game. Croft, despite carrying too much weight, has shown some class. Baxter has a real footballers brain on the pitch (and off it too, costing himself an Everton career) and Derbyshire has scored in consecutive games and looks very sharp compared to what he's replaced.
Simpson may or may not play. He's had a poor season so far but Dickov could well back him.

This team wil would win 4-0![]()
you been drinking fencer ???
Same here, but it's not gonna happen is it? Douglas could sit down in the centre circle for the entire game and still be selected next week. The only time I have seen the diamond really work this season was v Crewe when Kev sat at the back - he is the only one with the discipline to do the job properly. As it doesn't look like we're going to see Reeves again any time soon, then Forshaw and Adeyemi look the best of the many other centre mid options and Harry is currently a better bet than Sam for the front. Also, that midfield could revert to a 4-4-2 easily if needed, with Kev and Forshaw in the centre and the other two wide.
Having said all that, we'll probably stick to the side that started at Bournemouth and win 3-0 of course!

Sam Saunders seems to slipping down the pecking order now.
zzzzzzzzz'' brentford champions'' zzzzzzzzzzzz
Legge must have gone backwards a long way in the second half of last season if he is not a better option than Craig. Douglas played pretty well second half yesterday whatever some have said, so he should stay. I would thus start with the 11 that were on after Dave's departure with the exception of Craig ie
Moore
Logan Dean Legge Bidwell
Forshaw Douglas Adeyemi Forrester
Farid Donaldson
... and no f***ing diamonds thanks!!!
Waiting for the next Terry Hurlock
Harry +10 +7.
Apparently the team will be running out to a famous Shirley Bassey 007 theme song...

Nice tall back 4 to deal with oldhams long balls, lots of creativity in midfield and fiery forwards.

If it's not working after an hour, I'd actually like to see Hayes come on to play with Farid instead of Donaldson.
It depends... if we are overloading the opponent's box, then Farid and Hayes may well be the answer as they're probably better at snatching a goal in a melee. If there's space and we're trying to get in behind them, then we'll need the pace of Clayton. Whatever, we need the midfielders to get stuck in with some goals. With Donaldson seemingly an 'outside the box' player, all three is an option.
When the wind of change blows some build walls, others build windmills...
Agreed. The three together would actually be a much better option IMO but in a 4-4-2 rather than the diamond. Our current system relies on at least one pacy frontman so a combination of Hayes and Farid would simply not be mobile enough - as we saw for a period in one of the previous home games.
However, Hayes and Farid up top with a standard four across the middle with Donaldson and Forrester wide would be much more effective as an alternative option IMO.
