just been looking at tranmere's fixture list. So far they have had it cushy. Tommorow they will come up against real class.

Ronnie Moore says on the BBC site "But Brentford are a big, strong side. This will be a tester. I'm expecting the toughest game we've had."

I think the key will be to be defensively strong particularly early on so as to avoid gifting any early goals which would allow a team in their position to blow us away as we chase the game. I can't really comment particularly on personnel and formation having only seen the demolition of Crewe but that said, I think having KOC just in front of the back four would be a good idea.

The positive of playing the top team is that they are unlikely to want to play negatively and this gives us an opportunity to play our way.

I suspect that this is also for us the first game where we will get an idea of whether we are realistic challengers to the teams at the top or at best makeweights who might squeeze into the play-offs by getting results (at some point!) against the weaker teams.

Naughty step for you old son but seriously I hope Uwe doesn't compromise our style by playing a negative / defensive midfield, we have the players in Forshaw, Adeyemi, Forrester, Saunders, Douglas and Dave to come back from Prenton Park with 3 points.
Football is not a matter of life or death, it's more important than that.

Two starts, two MOTM awards so far this season for KOC so it wouldn't really be that bad would it.......

And whilst I think of it, don't forget that one of KOC's MOTM Awards came in the 5-1 demolition of Crewe so a team which includes him isn't automatically defensive or negative.

I too hope that we will have the confidence to take the game to Tranmere, but we also have to defend. I will have no problem if Kev is given an anchor role in front of the back four.
The search for someone to blame is always successful.

Interestingly the Tranmere boards seem to think we are a big physical side... I don't really think so..

Ok so no prediction thread, but my wife thinks we will win 1-0, whereas I think Tranmere wil thump us 3-1. Ah well back to the drawing board.

Ronnie Moore said in the press that we were a big, physical side.
Isn't it a shame the way our little world has changed

You better get plenty of tissues in, he had another very good game today anchoring the midfield, you might be seeing him there quite frequently.

He's on course to be named MOTM in all three of the games he's started. Stuardo and Shouldbee will be absolutely horrified.
