    GPG Match Update Threads

    Come back from the game today, and read some of the tripe in "bees updates" maybe it should be scraped all together,or better still all the moaning buggas get off their ass and go to away games.

    It serves a function imo, there is some shit spouted in there from myself amongst others on both sides of the negative/positive fence. Thats what happens when folk get passionate about something

    If you can keep your head when all about you
    Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
    If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
    But make allowance for their doubting too;
    If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
    Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
    Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
    And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
    If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
    If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
    If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
    And treat those two impostors just the same;
    If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
    Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
    Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
    And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

    If you can make one heap of all your winnings
    And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
    And lose, and start again at your beginnings
    And never breathe a word about your loss;
    If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
    To serve your turn long after they are gone,
    And so hold on when there is nothing in you
    Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!'

    If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
    ' Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
    if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
    If all men count with you, but none too much;
    If you can fill the unforgiving minute
    With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
    Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
    And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!
    Rudyard Kipling. I went through this with my football team once in training. What a pretentious ****. There's a bit in there for everyone though.

    If like today l don't travel to the game as l don't have bees player I rely mainly on GPG for updates.This afternoon there was as you say a lot of tripe and miss information.I try and post regular updates when I go to away games (if I'm sober enough)for fans in same position as l was today.

    As long as it stays relevant to updates of the game it is a good and useful thread. Someone moaning that player X missed Y chance is fine, if it then goes into a discussion on how good that player is in the long run then the threads can get bulky.

    its football, happy when your winning and moaning when your losing.Its weird when people are so positive all the time no matter what is staring them in the face

    Maybe there should be an 'updates' thread for those reporting from the game and a 'discussion' thread for those wanting to moan, sorry, I mean discuss!

    But that i can understand, at least they bothered to get off their backside, paid their money and all that, but its the same old faces on here, that hardly ever go to away games, that continally slag off the manager/players/ . it use to be fun reading updates after the game, to see the enjoyment of other bees fans that couldnt make it, but its not a good read anymore, i for one wont bother with the update thread anymore

    I maybe go to one away game a season, as a treat for my son, having done 20 plus for years, and I can't understand people that moan and slag everything off and don't go.

    It started as soon as the teams were announced yesterday.

    I try to attend matches, home and away, but I'm not always able to arrange my working calendar to get matches in. I will use BeesPlayer in those cases and will visit the match updates thread. It does not take long to work out posters' ingrained opinions - and I'm sure I'm just as transparent - so you quickly learn who to ignore and who to chuckle at or with. I get more annoyed when the polemic gets carried on to the Report and Reactions thread, as I do expect a more informed opinion there.

    And what's worse is forming opinions based on other's opinions. Such as listening to bees player and passing off their opinion as ones own. Yawn

    Is Bees player worth the money? I've never used it, including the free trials.

    From what I can judge from reading on here the commentary seems to fail most of the time!

    It's excellent, but don't listen to me. Try it yourself.

    It will occasionally stop but it's usually 'Billy the excitable Kid' knocking a wire out. I've sat in hotel rooms on a wireless connection all over the world listening to it and not really had any problems over the last couple of years.

    I think the updates are pretty good but can I make a plea to those that post them not to just put shite,blast and any other comment when the opposition score because it would be far easier to say 1 down or 1-0 down . Thank you Bee in excile

    That is why we try and change the thread title to reflect the score. Not always possible if busy or if is that time of the decade I am at an away game myself

    Ffs have you seen the shit lineup he's put out against Shrewsbury? We'd be better off with That cokehead Thorpe up front. You dont want to go up Brentford. Its a relegation battle I tell you...
