Indications in here are that home crowds are dropping (can't be bothered to re-read it all) - but just for the record, the first home game of the season saw 5,269 at GP - yesterday it was 5,607, the highest so far this season. That seems to me upwards - not a drop.
Two years ago the Football League was reporting that average attendances were higher than at any time in the previous fifty years. It's not changed much in the last two years. Brentford's attendances are made up of core support as befitting a club that has been languishing for some time. More will attend when the Bees are successful and that is the only way forward. And that is one reason why a new stadium is needed.

It has. Not so much at Brentford, our crowds - or at least our season ticket sales if not actual attendance - have held up quite well but lots of clubs in the lower divisions are recording very much smaller crowds. A few years ago only a handful of clubs in the third tier averaged under 5,000, now I would guess it's close to half of them. I accept that we haven't had many attractive fixtures yet, and the extra midweek games don't help, but we haven't yet played in front of more than 5,700 all season to date, home or away.
First they came for the communists.........
We played well yesterday and beat an in - form side, for the majority of the match we were the better side. Forrester was excellent, Donaldson took his goals really well and Hayes had his best game for us so far. Let's hope we can build on this result and get up into the play off places as I think this division is wide open this season.
Think blunstone wants us to get relegated.

Was hoping to be there yesterday but circumstances conspired that I didn't. Reading all the reports it sounds like I missed a real treat.
On the subject of a partnership between CD and Hayes and will Hayes weigh in with many goals, anyone remember the partnership between Quasimodo and the crisp saleman aka Beardsley and Lineker?
That was allegedly a front two but how many goals did Beardsley contribute? I seem to remember it wasn't many but he did a hell of a lot of the spade work for Lineker if my memory serves me right

really happy with how well we played and that uwe decided to change the tactics a bit (bloody tinkering eh?!). i must admit i saw the line up in the pub before kick off and my heart sank seeing douglas and dave starting but thankfully the diamond was dispensed with and we done the business, and probably deserved to win by more. logans dreadful mistake aside we were a lot better then tuesday. donaldson finished his chances well for the goals, hopefully he can do this more consistently now.
Brentford ARE Back
I don't think the diamond was completely dispensed to be honest. We had a midfielder sitting, Hayes behind Donaldson and three midfielders in between across the width of the park.. Diamond-lite perhaps. We certainly weren't a rigid 442 imo.
I intend to live forever. So far, so good.
Diamond-lites? Choooooon.

For me imposing yourself on the opposition is very so they way we played especially 1st half was excellent and so different to Tuesday night.
Keep it up lads

The Alarm XXVI
We played superbly in the first half and Crawley barely got out of their box. You could see that Barker and his team couldn't muster a reaction from them and that goes to show how dominant we were. Logan and Bidwell were having a field day on the flanks and Crawley belied their position as high flyers.
One big positive from yesterday was that we werent necessarily missing our chances, moreso we were being denied by some last ditch saves and blocks.
Whether it was or not, the important thing was that yesterday we had width and some personnel in the middle of the field, both of which were lacking first half against AFCB and (so I hear) Shrewsbury. A four-man diamond with no proper wide-men and two advanced forwards is something that should never happen again.
Waiting for the next Terry Hurlock
