Alagui hadnt yet got the game time Donaldson has or as the main striker,i reckon he'd score more, wether he'd have the same amount of chances or not,he wouldnt waste as many.
Donaldson is getting praise for getting in the right positions all the time but not converting enough
...hopefully starts today...
I don't know why but i have a good feeling about this lad, think he will do well for us bees
think he will suprise a few of us!
You think he will do well... You think he will surprise a few of us.
I'd rather he didn't surprise us then and does indeed do well.
bugger, morethan I thought... Meant to quote 'Hanwell'.
Needs to play on Tuesday. Let's see what he can do.
Bit harsh, that miss seemed to me that the bloke was trying too hard and was gripped by nerves. Its unusual for you to "write a bloke off" for one miss. Have you seen alot of him for the dev squad or something? From the glimpses i have seen of German he looks alright and i think he would have offered more than Hayes has so far.

I am a pragmatist . I would love us to have other options than Clayton, but we haven't and I can't see us binning one of our highest paid players with one more season yet on his contract.
We need 4 strikers who know how to score goals.
CD is a 12-15 goal a season man at best in our league and we need to find at least one more.
German is an unknown quantity but this is a tough profession and he was given a wonderful opportunity and blew it.
Hopefully he will come again but I am only interested in the mess we currently have to endure with our strikers and I honestly don't see German as providing an immediate solution. We need someone who can score goals NOW.
Maybe Spencer will help but I see him as a lower cost option and an educated gamble at best.
We caught a cold with our last 2 experienced loan strikers in Morrison and Clarkson but given our circumstances and Hayes inability to contribute to the level we need the money had, yes HAD to be found within the remaining playing budget to fill the gap with a proven goal scorer.
They are out there but cost at least 3-4 k a week but for whatever reason, maybe good, maybe bad it hasn't happened.
It is all very well criticising UWE but maybe in this instance he hasn't been supported as he should have been. I am sure if he had 2 strikers he could rely on then he would play them but he currently doesn't.
I've said this before but if it really is down to £5k a week for a striker who could get us promoted which would equate to £100k in total some or all of which would in all probability be recovered in gate receipts as we started actually winning games I cannot understand why the funds are not available.
because if that £100k doesnt work then its "oh just another £100k" and if that doesnt work repeat over and over. we've already got a budget above our means thanks to a generous man that should get us challenging for at least the playoffs, if uwe misspends it he'll be struck off and we'll try and find someone who can spend it better.
Agree with a lot of that, i still think your being harsh on German though, the fella impressed away at Bournemouth last season and came out with pride a few days prior at Orient (when most others didnt) i thought his general play (in his short cameo) was decent against Crawley also, 3 games and he hasnt let us down yet,i think he could feel hard done by when you say he blew his chance.
