Hmmm. He was excellent for Exeter last season. Did Ron miss this one (a) deliberately - because he didn't rate him or think he is what we need (b) because he wouldn't offer West Ham enough or (c) because he wouldn't offer the player enough?

Hmmm, I think (a) would be mis-informed whilst (b) & (c) would be short-sighted. Surely Gary (who I agree was excellent) should fit the Ron requirements of age and potential.

IMHO more money yes, but much less learning and improvement needed.

Not sure if this has been mentioned anywhere else but thought id comment anyway. GA has been playing even better since hes been given the armband, the only problem I have is he still seems to go down to easy for a big fella! Half the time he could actually win the ball rather ending up on his ar*e!

Thought he contributed nothing last night. An honest player who puts in more effort than he is given credit for but just doesn't fit in with the new style of play at all.

Thought Simpson played off him very poorly, a number of Alexanders flicks and headed passes just were not anticipated by Simmo whereas Charlie does better at it. He's a decent enough lower league target man.

Must be me then as I reckon he is getting slower and slower, possibly suitable for the old style of football but as he shows such little anticipation I do not see him as the answer at present, equally Simpson and Charlie

I'm not as eloquent as the pipe but in my eyes GA is a Lump and millwall read him right when shipping him out, great personallity and im sure a good lad to have around the dressing room but F me he just aint got any pace and those shorts look tighter every week.

Why does he need so much room to turn? He is like the super market trolley.

The thing that I noticed continously about GA more so at Hartlepool is he rarely jumps and stands there looking to use his weight.

It would be could if Gary and Charlie were actually introduced to one another

Cos they dont play as a partnership never seem to pass to one another or communicate.

All I see at the moment up front is Gary huffing and puffing and Charlie doing his best to win corners and throw in's

Shots from our stingkers are rare and usually not hit properly

Simpson and Alexander are possibly our 2 slowest players, and they both have the turning circle of a cruise ship.

Charlie was doing ok last night and when Simpson came on it just ruined the dynamic. A player who has gone backwards since his injury.
