I think Rösler wants a team to play with more pace than Sam has and, as the alternatives get into their match stride, he'll fall down the pecking order. Forshaw, Forrester and Adeyemi have more technical ability, vision and speed, they just need to get into the team groove.

It's no coincidence that the youngsters Uwe has brought in are outshining the older players. The above 3, plus Bidwell and Logan (and arguably Dean) have all come from PL youth systems where they learn how to play a particular way. Players who have sloshed around the lower leagues, like Sam, Clayton and others, may have something about them and some experience but will never have that football education; they will always be lower league players. One or two of our new crop will go on to greater things... let's hope it's with us.

Yes Saunders hasn't started the season very well but it seems a lot of fans want him to cock up so they can have a moan at him. For some reason the moans are always louder when Sam messes up than other players? I also feel Sam needs to feel like the main midfielder for him to shine and with Forshaw coming in and Harry breathing down his neck from the bench it seems like he can't play with the confidence he showed in the back half of last season. Still think he has a lot to offer us but could definitely do with a couple games on the bench.

Way I see it as well, in fact everyone needs to play well to keep their place which can only be good.

Seems to me Saunders is happiest when he sees a lot of the ball. Yesterday Forshaw was the main man in midfield and Sam was clearly out of sorts. Uwe has a number of midfield options if he continues to play the diamond. On yesterday's showing I'd be tempted to put Forshaw at the top end and give Forrester a go on the right. I'm not yet convinced Forrester is the messiah some seem to think, but I would like to see him given a chance to show what he can do

He might not be the messiah, but Forrester is probably the most technically gifted footballer at the club.

I'm happy to believe that. It will be great for the club if he can turn that into a consistent contribution in terms of goals and assists. I also look forward to seeing a few moments of genuine skill and class, which are all too rare at our level.

He is a Brentford player and maybe not having his best time but doesn't deserve this.
Criticism is one thing. Personal attacks are way out of order in my opinion .

Maybe he is trying to hard at the moment because not much is working out for him, a couple of times yesterday he went for a hollywood ball and it sailed out of play when a short simple pass would have sufficed

I find that I berate him a lot because I have high expectaions of him. He can influence games when he is in his groove.

Always needs a free kick to go in or a imperious game to get him going and he can go on a spell of superb form. Maybe a spell on the sidelines will give him some food for thought and get him pushing for a starting spot.

Sam looks like a man who knows his time in the team is up, I was surprised he made the 2nd half, Sam is a good player with loads to offer but it's just gone a bit bad thus far, he'll be back but it's time for Harry and the others to get a go.
Far too old for a mid-life crsis

It is time now for Harry to start imo. Might be just the thing to kick start Sam's season. He cannot complain at being dropped, for whatever reason it is not working fo him atm.

I think you're right and I reckon Uwe had told Sam he was coming off but gave him an extra 5 minutes at beginning of second half. Sam is usually visibly disappointed when subbed but there was an air of resignation on Saturday and after Harrys' impact I don't think he'll be surprised if he's on the bench for a while.

Last season he was under no pressure as there was no real competition for his place. IMO if Harry stays injury free and gets match fit [ which he isn't ],then Sam will be waiting a long time for another chance.

    Fantastic Support !
The heroes of 67 would be really proud of this attitude.
I suspect you only post for reactions so well done.

Ironically it is you accusing a player of having no substance or value.

No idea why people spend their lives looking for something to criticise. Fair do's if it's deserved but you'd think some of you just wait there ready to stick the boot in.

On his day Sam's one of the best midfielders in the division, get behind him and show some support...you'd think some people want us to remain in this division forever.

There's not many(if any) players deliberatlly play bad Sam's no exception, he's playing poorly for whatever reason, a rest might do him good however, don't think he would be to happy with that. My feeling is it could be the end for him if other players keep him on the bench for any length of time.

Cannot disagree with you at all, just want to see more of those days that make Sam one of the best midfielders in the division.....not seen much of him in the 6 games this season. While Sam is not performing how we know he can Harry deserves his chance, its called competition for places.
It was just one of those things....

    Agree with this.

Harry has waited patiently for his chance and if Sam isnt performing to the standards we've come to expect of him then Harry should get a few games.

Same as if Harry doesn't perform in his games then Sam should be reinstated. We need competition for each position to keep players on their toes and if dropping Sam for a few games shows the rest of the team that Uwe isn't afraid to do it, then it could be a boost to any others that are getting too comfortable.

I think he has a 1 year (2012/13) plus a 1 year (2013/14) option if he plays a certain number of games. Not 100%.

If you don't rate SS Hullbee, fair enough. We are all entitled to our opinions, but please cut out the personal abuse. No need for it and it can destroy a player. For what it's worth I hope that HF takes his chance now and excells.
