Kevin O'Connor- substitute for a season and a half. A SEASON AND A HALF.
Ok. Look at it this way. This is Kevin's 14th season. Don't include the first two, as he didn't play that many times (19 with a few sub apps), so 400 apps in 12 seasons, 33.4 a season and approx 4 as a sub per season, over 12 years. He's also had many months out injured which could add up to a season and a half. So an average of 40+ appearances over his 12/14 seasons isn't too shoddy. There aren't many footballers that can say that at this level.

Ha! The joy of statistics. They can prove whatever you want. Just ask the Government.
Kevin O'Connor- substitute for a season and a half. A SEASON AND A HALF.
You are spot on Paul. It's nowhere near a shoddy record. And yet people historically have said he's not good enough. My original point was it's great to see he seems to be enjoying a surge in fan popularity as a footballer where I think for a while that wasn't the case.

I believe he has a pretty good record with the fans. Maybe 2006/07 was his lowest point, but he's shown over 14 seasons and 10 managers (not inc the 1 or 2 game caretakers!) that he's good enough to play several positions and I don't recall anyone giving him stick in a game....... not inc 2006/07!!!

give it up88% of the games he's played have been as a starter. even if it was as low as 70%, your point would still be tenuous. 88% is a huge amount.
fair enough on your overall point - it is nice to see this upsurge in his popularity. though any "down" points are mainly because, as a society, and particular as sports fans, we are over-critical idiots![]()

Consistent performer and played in numerous positions, all recent managers have wanted him. What more needs to be said!!
Well said all. I will close with this epitaph. Kevin O'Connor. Substitute for a SEASON AND A HALF.

Kevin has been brilliant. Won over 10 managers. You are watching a club legend. It's happening in your lifetime. It's unlikely to happen again. Enjoy.

Let's be fair Banana his record at the club speaks for itself.

Still waiting for the graph.![]()
Kev's 'line' should be a steady & constant straight one, then a couple of 'ups' under MA, a dip for 2006/07, then back onto a steady climb.............. a few have questioned his place, but the managers (10+) over the years have all picked him in the XI or XVIII, so over 14 seasons (not far off a club record either I may add) his name should to be added, & rightly so, with the football clubs legends of Coote, Gelson & Higginson..... oh and Batesy too!![]()
