To be honest I think it's quite pathetic that we haven't brought anyone in. Surely a non-league player on trial, SOMETHING?. We always leave everything till the last minute. This club's showing great ambition this season regarding the youth side of the club but the first team squad side of the club is just awful. We sell our two top scorers and can't replace them....
I understand all this 'saving money for next season's budget'. However, I'd like us to finish the season with a bit of momentum. Let's get to 53-55 points and then let some of the development squad feature in some games. 1) Most senior players wont be here next season 2) We get to see what players can shine at a league one level 3) It gives them experience 4) No point investing all this money into an academy and development squad if we wont play any youngsters.

Why should I bother renewing ours, I've done this since we were in a much worse state. I seriously shall have to think about next year.
All this talk about funds now being kept for use next season, may follow suit and spend the £20 in the pub with Jeff Stelling and friends
Lick it Like you Mean It
Would like a statement from management/director saying why we haven't signed a striker.
Looking through signings made by others, Lauri Dalla Valle would have made sense

Complete joke, lucky I live close enough to the ground to know the side before I leave, if Donaldson & Mcginn are in it, I won't be using my ticket on saturday. I would have excepted a non league player on loan for the rest of the season, they can't get any less goals then Donaldson.

Chris Wickham - West Ealing Bee once- tweets "It's been a frantic couple of hours". He's the man that does BFC press releases -I wonder why he's been busy?

I intend to live forever. So far, so good.
Clinton Morrison it is then...
Well, that should lighten this thread up for the time being haha

Oh well at least he can score goals........well he use to.
Just to let you know that chocolate oranges are available from Rawlinsons.
Keith Curle has been very active in the loan market, think it's something like 5 in at Notts County in the last few days.
I'm sure this will be covered in a 2012/13 squad thread, but we should right now have the basis of a settled squad that can drive us towards a promotion push next season and we're nowhere near it. Another summer of mass ins and outs is on the cards and how many clubs throw together a squad in July/August and end up the season with success. Not many. We appear to be exacly where we were 12mths ago, if not 24mths ago, relying on loan signings for a month here and there.
Based on the out of contract players leaving (it is nearly April and I'm sure they would have been sorted out by now if staying) I'd say the following are considered as first team players for next season/proven at L1 level. Looks very short to me!!
Lee
O'Connor
Legge
Marcel
Douglas
Saunders
Woodman, Pim and Wood will leave as not fancied by Uwe, along with the out of contract Osborne and Bean. Weston and Dave are not up to it - they've had enough chances to show they can be consistent L1 players who are capable of being part of a promotion chasing side, but one performance every 10 games simply isn't good enough. Forrester, Reeves, Moore, Oyeleke and Logan all have potential, but nothing more than that at this stage. It seems Donaldson is doing all he can to not be involved and get a move back to L2.
That's a lot of business to do and based on the success, or lack of it, we appear to have had in the transfer market of late, I'm seriously worried. No leaders, no creativity, no goalscorers.
Thoughts?
Fully agree a lot will be leaving, whether as many as you suggest I would imagine depends upon existing contracts. I share your concern re the building of a new team however in fairness we could not just get rid of contracted players during the season without replacing them and thus breaching the budget
The litmus test will be who remains next season and the calibre of replacements, if there is not a significant improvement then the Rosler out brigade will be proved correct and those of us who have suggested he needs time will need to offer fulsome apologies
