Yes it is frustrating when he misses a sitter or two ........................
But he is currently the league's top scorer and he wears a Brentford shirt .......that will do for me![]()

I think Uwe was more upset with his inability to stick to a game plan. In the opening 15 minutes, there was a clear tactic with Farid on the corner of their box for goal kicks but both forwards dropping back when we had possession deep, then Clayton running wide for the ball behind the defence. It worked reasonably well and then Clayton started running all over the place and trying to head the ball going into Farid; I think positional sense in one of his problems and he doesn't play to his strengths, which is what Uwe was annoyed about.
When the wind of change blows some build walls, others build windmills...
I think he does have a good first touch especially when you compare him to other recent strikers, Macdonald and Alexander for example, so I cannot understand why some are so critical of Clayton. OK his goalscoring ratio was below par last season but he's made a good start and hopefully it will continue. It's all about confidence with strikers and we need to get behind him 100% and I'm pretty sure he will be our 20+ goals man this season.
Football is not a matter of life or death, it's more important than that.
There's no doubt his first touch has become slightly more efficient since Uwe had the pitch made a bit wider.![]()
If we beat Southend.
I think it comes down to whether you mean first touch outside of the area which is normally sublime (Bob Tayloresque) or first touch in the box which is normally a tad heavy. CD is a gifted footballer IMO but I don't want to accused of starting a witch hunt so I'll praise him no more.
Vote BLUNSTONE - maybe out of touch but closer than what we already have.
The thing with Donaldson is that we can see that he is a good player but is frustrating to watch. Chances where he doesn't think about what he is doing (i.e. instinctive finishes) he will put away no problem (notts county away, Crewe at home) its when he gets into those one on one chances where he has time on the ball he generally fluffs.
Why does this happen who knows but as long as he continues to contribute to the team I am happy for him to play.
With his goals per game ratio this season and indeed towards the end of last season his name should be first down on the team sheet. I'm really happy he is with us and always thought his scoring record would come good. I think he and Farid are going to prove to be a very potent force.

It seems the consensus last season was that he showed a lot of potential and we should stick by him despite the goal drought. Now he's suddenly started finding the back of the net, he's not good enough and we should get rid of him. How very confusing and what a nonsense.
Strikers at this level will always miss more than they score. If he keeps up his current goalscoring ratio then we'll do alright this season. He's a good forward.
