    Sorry - corrected...

I know stats can prove anything, but for the last time, a great striker doesn't just score goals. Take a look at these Liverpool stats...

Kevin Keegan, European Footballer of year and one of Liverpool's most loved and feared strikers, scord a goal every 2.923 games.

Kenny Dalglish, twice Footballer of the Year and adored by 'Pool fans, scored every 3.0 games.

And remember, even the greats at the Bees didn't average 1 every two games over their careers...

    Nicky Forster 4.12

Clayton has achieved one every 2.475 games.

In other words, he's not doing too badly.

Claton Donaldson Games 255 Goals 103 Avs no. of games per goal 2.475
    Keegan Games 500 171 2.923
    Suarez 47 16 2.937
    Toshack 471 195 2.415

And why does Farid get off without any abuse. His one on one was even easier than CD's and he missed the target with two point blank free headers. Not wanting him to be vilified but why is it only CD that gets the aggro?

Because he scored an 89th minute winner at a guess.................

Thought he had a decent game, involved a lot and got on the ball. Thought the only decent chance was the lob and that wasn't straightforward.

Agree we need to start sticking chances away though, but don't think Donaldson was the main culprit tonight!

The ball held up for his lob which made it a much more difficult chance. That aside, he didn't do enough tonight IMO, and the powder puff toe poke at the end summed up what I thought was a performance lacking in conviction.

You're right though, he didn't miss any guilt edge chances and we as a team didn't create enough chances anyway.

Hatred should be reserved for players like Martin Rowlands not one of our own.

Don't get it, he was involved in anything decent we did tonight. The lob was the best chance but that is one of the harder finishes. A couple of other half chances but they were hardly glaring misses

He is our utility wheelie bin does the work that others won't do throw in's, chasing lost causes, defending, tackling, passing the water bottle around unfortunately I would prefer he didn't do any of that and focused on striking a football properly..... You will note I am not expecting my bin to score goals just get a good connection

Well done CD for all your running.
As I said before....he's a Div 1 striker that's gonna be playing in Div 1 for us next year.
    Thanks again

Isn't it time Herr Rosler admitted he has put too much faith in him and drop him. He could well be a decent sub for a push in the last twenty minutes. Otherwise this saga will go on for a long time......!

I love what Donaldson offers us but I'm starting to think he's costing us points now with his lack of goals. I'd prefer to see El Alagui and Hayes get a chance or two together.

Look he is paid bloody good money to be the main man, the superstar forward, the one you rely on to nick an undeserved victory.

Instead he has probably missed half a dozen good chances in less than 180 minutes against two very average sides.

Not bothered about seeing him play for us again given we let him settle in over the whole of last season.

He seriously needs to up his game

He is the League 1 top goalscorer. Tonight, he didn't do as well with a lob as he might have, albeit the ball held up just enough to make it tricky, and he had a poor toe poke from a good chance at the end. His scoring form in the last ten games, end of last season and beginning of this, is excellent. For whatever reason, he appears to be the default option for criticism in every game we don't win which I find very odd. His strike partner meanwhile, the man you've drop him for, contributed virtually nothing and missed the best chance of the game.

Although he is the top scorer and got the most assists in the league last season...

Seriously, regardless of chances he is top scorer in the sodding league that he is meant to be out of depth in !

I'd go as far to say if Uwe announced tonight Clayton was being offered on a free, every single team in this division would want him

Yep, his pace terrifies defences and whilst he misses sitters he scores and creates goals!

Which division are you referring to?? If he was that much in demand how did he end up with us

Yep my view also but we seem to be in a minority that doesn't include Uwe. I like Uwe. And he could take us to the next level but on the other hand relying on Donaldson might just cost him his job. . .

He and Craig are the easy targets imo. No problem with him tonight. It annoys me that some players can do no right and others do no wrong.
I intend to live forever. So far, so good.
