Think the comment in your initial post sums things up, ie frustrating. We all know he has ability, is a real pain to opposition defenders but does not score the number if goals his ability deserves
With a few notable exceptions the vast majority on here wish him well, appreciate what he gives the team but hold our head in our hands if he is one on one or is taking a penalty
It is probably that most believe he could do so much better that he gets so many dodgy comments, like my School report where could do better apeared with grim regularity and my parents were more angry than justified because I could have done better!! It's the same with most on here
I wonder if we've tried anything different with him in the last couple of weeks with no mid-week games?
e.g. sessions with Richard Lee & gang working on his mental approach, or a couple of days off to refresh & recharge?
I think it will be great to give Clayton a great reception tomorrow (Doncaster) extended applause/chanting his name to show him how true Bees fans feel about him. He is a confidence player so lets give him that buzz that might spark a match winning performance!!!
See you there!!
Got it. So what you're saying then, is that if we had eleven players that were all shite and we were losing 11-0 every week and looked like being relegated by January, thing to do is get behind them rather than suggest a few changes might be in order and risk worsening the likkle butterflies in their poor cherub like tummies? Righto.
Next time I feck up at work eight times on the trot I must remember to tell my boss it's only because I'm lacking confidence and that he should give me more support. Let's see how he responds to that. He doesn't pay me three grand a week to have no bollox either.
Rant over.
If we beat Southend.
P.S. As predicted elsewhere, Clayton will score tomorrow, new boy will miss a sitter and we will either win 1-0 or draw 1-1.
If we beat Southend.
I want Clayton to succeed more than any other player I can recall playing for Brentford. He's got everything including the right attitude - add goals and he becomes a Brentford legend imo.
I intend to live forever. So far, so good.

Race Hell????? ok...
What can be asserted without proof can be dismissed without proof
I thought that almost everything he did outside the box was excellent. He ran the channels, held the ball, carried the ball, won headers, brought others into play and made some strong runs. However, I firmly beleive he is not a goal scorer in the sense that he is a poor finisher and lacks intelligence in the box. For example, he missed the poor back pass chance and in 2nd half when racing into the box he made a poor touch with only the keeper to beat. Also, twice Harry lost it with him when he decided to stand on the penalty spot rather than make a run to the near post for a low cross.
He rightly got plenty of positive support yesterday but I think if we are going to play this tactic for away games (which I largely agree with), we need the central midfielders to gamble occasionally and run past him (like Douglas did for the goal) to make more goal scoring chances. That might just make the difference.
Wouldn't some specialist coaching in his area be a help to him and confidence. Couldn't we get an experienced forward to give him this much needed advice.
