To be fair he was our only bright spark against Fulham last year but didn't get a look in for some reason.

Definatly can see he has a football brain, the ability he has at his age to switch the play and pick out Gerrard style cross field passes, brilliant!
    Also good in a tackle.

Agree with all of the above, he looked class tonight! I really hope he fills the gap left by Dave rather than reverting to the 'old guard'.

He had a great game tonight agains quality opposition. So exciting to have players like him, Hacker and Oyeleke coming through. What a massive boost it could be to our squad.

A very down to earth young man too. I remember when Leah was mascot for the Fulham game, she did the rounds in the changing room getting signatures on her football, all the first team squad, then came Jake, "you don't want me to sign, I'm not a pro!" I said "you're Brentford, sign it!" He duly did, a bit sheepishly, but I said to him that, I'd seen him play and thought he could make it here, he just said "I hope so."

It seems like he's coming of age sooner than some thought.

    Good luck to him.

Super performance this evening. Great link up with Douglas. I would not be at surprised to see him start against Yeovil.

Fabulous to see a player come through from the youth set up. I just wonder why he didn't get a game last season...

First time I've seen Jake. Had heard good things. Seems people were right. Seems like a cross between Tabby and Andy Sinton? If he turns out half as good as those two he'll be OK! If Dave's out for a while I'd be happy to see Young Jake on the teamsheet. Great prospect!

Totally knocked out by his performance and when you consider this was a premiership club he played against... lost for words.

Chatting with a Bees mate the other day about Reeves, we came up with the thought "has he had a loan spell out"

If as we thought not, interesting that majority of other youngsters loaned out ie Blake Bush etc and to a certain extent Darius have not come through so strongly.

So is loaning youngsters out good for them? just a thought
That was the season and so is the next season

He reminded me of Tabb tonight, great performance and what an exciting prospect. Don't know whether he is ready to play 90 minutes twice a week in League One yet. But he certainly enjoyed the space that Stoke let him have. Remember he is only 17.

Because he knows how to pass the ball on the deck.

Agree with all of this. A hugely exciting prospect. He's still raw and may not yet make the right decision every time but he's the biggest young tallent since Tabby IMO.

Top draw! Really liked everything about him! Plays with his head up, good feet, great range of passing, hardly ever gave the ball away, hard in the tackle, tracks players, it was even his (very hard) shot that lead to the goal! Think that Douglas is the perfect foil for him too! We may finally have the centre midfield this season that we have all wished for!!! Has to start ahead of Bean and KoC on that showing!

Man of the Match tonight for me which for a 17 year old playing against last years cup finalists is some achievement.

I think he will play a big part this season - somewhat surprised how good he is given he didn't get a kick last year. Will be interesting to see if he fares as well against League 1 teams trying to kick him off the pitch.
Not in the inner circle so can only give opinion not fact.

My worry too, think he needs Douglas there to protect him, if for some reason Douglas is out, I can see Jake having a harder time of it

Sounded like he did alright against Stoke and they don't come much more physical than them. By all accounts he is strong in the tackle.

A very impressive performance. He shoots, he tackles, he runs, he does everything a midfielder should. If Jake maintains that level of performance, he'll have a very good career.

It was to our great credit that we outmuscled Stoke in the second half. Not many teams can claim to have done that.

Not so much worried that he will get hurt/won't win tackles, but more that with a league one thug at his heels all game, we won't get a chance to see the passing range, and with it, his ability to create

I've only seen him once vs Fulham last year and was impressed, am i right in thinking that he was injured for a large part of next season, as from the one game i've seen and the reports i've read this guy is the real deal!
