We as L1 club sign a championship defender proven at that level. Good Deal, no complaints.
Wall sign L1 defender Karleigh with potential. Good Deal for Karleigh and Millwall.
For every Harlee you need a Craig.
For every Robinson (Millwalls centre half) you need a Karleigh.
Both clubs seem to have done good business.
Be interesting to see if Osborne goes the Turner route to the prem or the Sam Sodje route back to L1. Down to Karleigh Now.

Why should the armband be given to a player who'll most likely spend the season on the bench ?
Football is not a matter of life or death, it's more important than that.

Kevin is club captain and Douglas didn't want it when UR asked him before he'd played a game for us. He was captain at Swindon when they went down and felt that had an adverse effect on his performances that season.

Totally agree. You're not naive, these people are the dregs.

I'm not suprised, they were closed down for 2 weeks in the early 1920's, and 3 more times after that for troublesome supporters, it's a club who's supporters are not able to change with the times, I hope Karleigh takes his tin hat with him because if he thought a few of our supporters treated him badly at times, welcome to the real world!! just wait until he gets real racist abuse when he makes mistakes, I have only been to Milwall once, never again, best of luck to you young man.

Good luck to him, did very well for us and should fit in with no problems in the Championship - just a shame it wasn't with us. Jackett's obviously not forgotten his rocket shot that hit the crossbar at Griffin Park and his superb through ball for Carl Cort at the Den in 2009/10!

Vote BLUNSTONE - maybe out of touch but closer than what we already have.

Is that the same player so highly rated by Rosler?

Dont think it is so much of a "named" captain more a leader on the pitch, Gary A did this to a degree but a hard nosed central defender that does not take prisoners and bawls out his team mates when things go wrong is exactly what is needed. Dont care who has teh arm band and it becomes irrelevant when you have natural leaders on the pitch.
Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please.

Agree Pipe. Club captain means nothing, but team Captain surely needs to be a key player who starts every game ?..................

In a nutshell mate, both of them Kev , and Douglas are not captains. As loyal as Kev is, I have been disapointed at his captaincy. Very quiet, when things are down on the pitch, kev seems to go down with them. Kev is getting on a bit now, and who is to say he will be an automatic choice. People move on, Tony Craig is the obvious choice, because although younger he brings more experience to the table.

Have you ever watched him?He may be quiet, but he never stops talking to the other players - encouraging them, urging them on.

Good luck Karleigh. There's a lot worse places than Millwall to be playing football. Despite the reputation, it's London, the Championship, bigger club at present, and doubtless a nice wage packet to go with the job.

No because we are crying out for a leader on the pitch...

Is it right that Karleigh can leave for free on a Bosman after coming through from the juniors and and we have to pay for a replacement defender?

KO is 24 and out of contract. So free. Only 23 and under are fees eligible to be paid.
TC was in contract so we paid something for his services.

We got CD for free. We've just got Ferid for free. Swings and roundabouts.

Well said. In my eyes we have a new kind of Terry Evans, and let's face it, whoever didn't do it right on the pitch got a verbal bashing from him. Also sorry to see Karleigh go as I was one of those who rated him throughout his entire career here. Hope he does well, especially as Millwall fans can be so unforgiving if things don't go right.
