Regardless of how good other left backs in the league maybe, Bidwell could easily fit into a promotion winning side and even though he had some awareness issues, I wouldn't have traded him for anyone last season, he had it all as a left back and a diamond formation will suit him down to the ground.

Hypnotise the lot of 'em !
I'm unconcerned about this as I don't believe Bidwell will break through into the Premier League. This is because he just isn't quick enough for that level IMO. Otherwise he is a fine footballer and I can see him playing at Championship level [ maybe us]. I note he hasn't been offered a long term deal by Everton and I think that's indicative of their thinking.
I think you are spot on with his speed issues. IMHO Everton have offered him a one year extension which gives them a further look one year down the line and see if he improves. Hopeful that they will loan him out ( to us ) for the season at a good level to test this. If they let him go at the end of this period and he's been with us and his good mate Forshaw. I honestly feel we are ahead of the game in signing him on a perm deal. Although if my head rules my heart I feel Championship for us next season for us maybe one season too soon in reality we are still not there completely, but making the right moves.
Could see us still getting him on loan with us paying the bulk of his wages, providing he isn't on silly money something l am sure Everton don't do.
Premier League youth/development players are generally on quite low wages (compared to first teamers) believe it or not, in a lot of cases lower than your average league 1 player. Everton are generally quite wise when paying wages so I would be amazed if they offered Bidwell, essentially a third/fourth choice left back with little chance of playing in the Prem, much more (probably less) than someone like Legge was on.
Any news yet ? .. im lead to believe today is the day we hear news either way![]()
Forget Bidwell the Team GB womens left back gets my vote....
Bidwell deal I fear is going the way of the mighty Clarke-Rhodes-Bowditch triumvirate disappointment. A summer spent wondering and then- poof- they were gone.......
Kevin O'Connor- substitute for a season and a half. A SEASON AND A HALF.
If we miss out on Bidwell I would rather we try out another prem youngster (could even be better than bidwell!) on loan rather than sign a sub-standard guy on a permanent.
If we settle for second best, we may as well have kept Woodman!
Woodman doesnt compare to bidwell
