................strange substitution today..............thought he was our best player..............

He was definately struggling with cramp, put in a very good stint today shame he went off, I felt we were going to score till he went off as him and Logan seemed to be creating all the chances second half.

I think we saw hints today that he might turn out to be pivotal this season. His drive from midfield will be essential to our forward momentum if we continue to adopt such a negative formation with otherwise limited attacking options.

That's a lot of pressure on young shoulders, I know.

Get him fit and - if he can do it consistently - we've got a player on our hands

Been our best performer over the last two games.
He has quality on the ball, dribbling or picking out a pass.
Strange substitution as he was the only one from midfield driving us forward and trying to make things happen.

He'd pulled up with cramp a couple of times and, immediately before coming off, had stretched and tumbled, then was treated for cramp by another player.

Bit of a worry then. A well paid full time proffesional footballer with 6 weeks pre season under his belt shouldn't be getting cramp.

What I would say in Forshaws defence is he covered more miles than any player yesterday for the first 73 mins. After a long lay off, I put it down to first full competitive game since March and he did almost too much!

Remember Gerrard went down with cramp on 60 odd mins in the Euros v Italy and everyone was surprised but in reality he'd covered the equivalent of 90+ minutes of a Prem game with so much running and tracking.

Have few concerns about Forshaw, he's good, no he's very good and he's not on loan!

Not really Michael Owen was on tv talking about one early game for Liverpool he came off at half time with cramp in both legs due to the adrenaline brought on by the excitement of playing in a big game.I expect he had a few of his former Everton players there yesterday.

I said that he shouldnt start last week as i have only seen a decent half hour from him, and a decent half hour against Walsall shouldnt guarantee a starting place IMO. It got it well wrong and Forshaw was very energetic, positive and busy, which most of his colleagues werent. The fact he came off with cramp suggests that he isnt the finished article (at least physically) and he will need time to grow into league football (which was sort of the point i was trying to make by saying he shouldnt start) but with performances like that he could be a vital player for us this year.
    The future's bright, the future's Brentford !

That's the reason why he joined us. For any reserve player only by playing regular league football will help them develop into a stronger and fitter player.

Hope not, our record when he plays going back to last season is appalling (Yeovil L, Bury D, Bournemouth L, Orient L, Sheff Utd L, Exeter W, Yeovil L).

He puts himself about well but just seems a bit lightweight, and there hasn't been any end-product to his game yet. I think he has great potential, and it's always good to see players clearly making an effort and having shots on goal, but he just doesn't seem an effective "cog in the machine" so-to-speak at the moment IMO.

I'm looking forward to seeing him progress, and he will be an important player for us, but for now he should be an impact sub or backup (until Diagouraga loses form!). The three in midfield today were superb; glad that Douglas is finally up and running for the season.

It's strange tho how he has played really well when we don't win.

He would be on my team sheet today as well. I groaned when I saw Kev O C's name on the team sheet . Not because I don't rate him ( before I get shot down) but because Forshaw wasn't. However, I thought he was fantastic in that position just like signing a new player !! I'm not sure if I would drop him in place of anyone in that position if he continues like that.

Can anyone please confirm that Forshaw was missing today because of an injury because I haven't seen anything anywhere to that effect? If so, what is the extent of that injury?

Twisted his back in training. Saw him afterwards. He's fine...... Thankfully we have players that can fill in well in some areas.
