    going through the squad list on the official site, these are the players i cant see being good enough for a promotion push next year (i have no idea who is or isnt out of contract);

Craig Woodman - decent back up for a mid table team, if he's filth cheap then i'd keep him for that reason but i'd rather we got in, say dickson, with bidwell on a season long loan
Pim Balkestein - unless he can really show us something in the final games
Myles Weston - has had enough chances, i like him but cant see it ever happening constantly enough
Sam Wood - great guy, loves his job, but again other then a very cheap back up option not good enough for top half league one
Kirk Hudson - big Scott mistake although in fairness i've never seen him play to my knowledge

Osborne looks like he'll leave as well. i'm on the fence about saunders, certainly happy he has a one year contract with option rather then a 2 year contract, we need better and quicker players on the wing though, it'll be interesting to see how he gets on in the new role behind the front 2 this season. Diagouraga needs a good run of form otherwise i wouldnt be sad to see him go, no more then back up hopefully next season, same with bean although i'd keep bean of the two for his better defensive work.

Not that many out of contract unfortunately. Only ones out of contract as far as I can see are Bean, Wood, Hudson and Osborne. I expect all 4 of those to leave.

Hopefully we can pay off or ship out a few others who aren't up to standard. Weston/Balkenstein springs to mind.

Weston should stay. He's under contract and can be good on his day, just seems that the structure we play with the team at present (4-3-3 away or diamond at home) he doesn't really fit into. I expect him to stay though, at the very least as McGinn won't be here next season, so he'll be around until a replacement is brought in over the summer.

    Our contracted players next year:

    GKs
    GK Richard Lee (vice-captain)
    GK Simon Moore
    GK Antoine Gounet

    DFs
    LB Craig Woodman
    CB Marcel Eger
    CB Leon Legge
    RB Shaleum Logan
    RB Kevin O'Connor (captain)

    MF
    LM Myles Weston
    CM Jonathan Douglas
    CM Toumani Diagouraga
    AMF Sam Saunders
    AMF Harry Forrester

    FW
    FW Clayton Donaldson

Uncontracted but confirmed offered a renewal:
    FW Gary Alexander

    Those likely to leave imo:
    MF Marcus Bean
    DF Pim Balkestein
    FW Kirk Hudson
    DF Karleigh Osborne
    MF Sam Wood

Dev. Squad players who could make the cut:
    CM Jake Reeves
    CM Emmanuel Oyeleke
    FW Antonio German

(My knowledge of some of the other players in the Development Squad is limited, so there may be one or two potentials missing)

Based on that I would suggest that we need a minimum of 1 or 2 strikers (3 if Gary leaves). Antonio German would help that element though if he impresses in the Dev squad further. We need a player who we could believe could be the answer to our goal-scoring targets who could get 15-20 goals.

Defenders we are looking light on LB's and CB's, keep Woodman and bring in a more attacking LB, similar to Bidwell, but hopefully on a permanent. Bring in 2 CB's, one permanent at least. A RB perhaps but not our first priority.

Midfield, we need another winger, one who can also double up in a useful role in an attacking part of a 4-3-3. We should keep Myles and Saunders, so only one for now (unless Myles leaves), but Forrester could also be used in those roles. We will definitely need at least one central mid-field player, who can do Bean's role but probably attack more and have a higher ability level overall. Oyeleke and Reeves could prove quite beneficial coming into the first team for next season however, if that doesn't happen at least 2 to be brought in.

Goalkeepers, obviously fairly happy there. Lee's good and Moore is a more than capable back up. Doesn't even need to be considered.

    So
    3x Defenders minimum.
2x Midfield minimum, if Reeves and Oyeleke make the step up. 3/4x minimum otherwise.
2x Strikers. (3 if Gary leaves.)

So 7 players I make out we need minimum to bring in over the summer. Whether SL loans or permanent.

I reckon the following will be leaving this summer:

Osborne- Free transfer that will be snapped up by someone like Watford.

Wood- I think him going back out to Rotherham has sealed this deal sadly.

Bean- The seeming lack of a contract extension says to me that Rosler would rather part company with him.

Hudson- The invisible man since joining us, I personally don't reckon we will ever see him play for us again- probably off into non league.

Logan- Although he has been absolutely quality, I think his injury problems could mean he doesn't trigger the automatic extension in his deal. Should a team closer to Manchester come in for him I think we could lose out

Balkenstein- Unless he has a miraculous burst of form then I think he will end up loaned out next season before leaving on a free. Hopefully someone takes a chance on him and lines our pocket in the process if he doesn't kick on
Everyone needs to believe in something. I believe I'll have another beer.

Logan isn't a guaranteed player for next season either. He's short of the number of games he needs to trigger a one year option. He may go back up north.

When will that day next be.

Regrettably he will be staying as he is under contract and I doubt anyone will be stupid enough to take him off our hands.

i'd be surprised if we didnt offer him the extension regardless of games played, could be a very big part of next seasons team.

Good point actually, I think he definitely would have hit that target had it not been for injuries however. I think if injuries keep him out the club will offer him a contract extension anyway. He's Uwe's first choice right-back even when there are options.

This where UR and MW need to earn their corn.

Identifying the CONTRACTED players that cannot help us progress and finding a way to move them on and ideally getting some reasonabke value for them.

How many games does he need to play to trigger the clause in his deal?

i'd keep a few of them as back up, doesnt mean they would play each week

i expect a vastily different eleven to start the first game of the season compared to the best eleven that arent loanees we could field at the moment.

    Release:

    Bean
    Hudson
    Wood

    Transfer List:

    Woodman
    Balkestein
    Weston

Don't want to see Osborne leave but it seems inevitable. Undecided about Alexander, keep him on the terms offered by the club if he's not seen as a regular but if he throws a Charlie, let him go - he is replaceable.

Really hope we see some quality brought in over the summer to properly challenge next season. I remember abee saying Uwe will be judged on the 12\13 season. I remember it being said that the budget would remain the same this season as it was last season but I wonder if MB will be increasing it for next years 'big push'. Certainly hope so. We haven't spent a penny on transfer fees since summer 2010.. if we can shift some of our deadwood, hopefully we can afford some quality players this time.

Start by picking up Dean and Dickson on frees from Southampton.

Would like to keep Osborne, and only keep Alexander if he is 3rd or 4th choice.

In an ideal world [ I realise there are contracts in place and contract offers have also been made], I would like to see the following pony express leave town. Woodman, Wood, Hudson, Pim, Weston,Bean,Osborne,Alexander. None IMO can play at a higher level or get us up.

Fully agree except Osborne who I believe has got it is him to play at Championship level, and is young enough to still improve further.

if we're talking about players who wouldn't be anywhere near good enough to play above league one, then you had better add O'Connor and Legge to the list...

Bean, wood, hudson, Pim, Woodman, Weston, Gounet and Osborne will probably all leave either released, made available on a free or turn down a new contract.

Well we lost Davee early this season and abee + northamptonbee followed out the door in Jan.
I fear Rebus may be snapped up by a big club like Orient very soon.

I think Hull Bee will leave in a huff. Unless more posters write or reply to him
    Wanderer Paul will flounce off.
Kingston Bee + magicbees will self combust unless we sign Pavlechenko or Drogba by June + replace Rosler with Mourinho.

VoiceoftheBraemar will be off on hols in early May + return looking resplendant in august. We should offer him a new contract asap.
