I think we are on the way to getting a very good squad together, but am looking forward to the final pieces of the jigsaw being added soon.
At our level, loanees are again likely to play a very important role, and, often, the availabilityof such players is not resolved until just prior to the season starting( especially if they are highly pomising)
I do wonder, though, if some players have rejected us due to the squad rotation system favoured by Uwe. It might suit some, but others may prefer to join a club where they feel they have a better chance of starting more regularly...

That may well be the case, I remember reading something about Charlie Mac losing out on win bonuses etc when he was not in the squad which was a big issue for him. However what is the alternative, telling players they are in the team then not picking them, or picking players that should be dropped. Dont think Uwe has a choice really, best to be honest and upfront then you know the players you get are fully aware of where they stand and are hopeully 100% behind the team cause. The other thing is that because of injuries and suspensions you tend to get a fair amount of natural rotation anyway, maybe too much is made of rortation at this level. I cannot remember much obvious rotation going on last year, or have I lost it.

Charlie Brimicombe has joined the club, former Wimbledon youth teamer and Ashford Town (Middx) by the looks of it. For the development squad one imagines.

In all honest I think a lot of it will come down to money offered

i forgot pym --- he could be back to his best this campaign! he showed signs of showing what he could do at the tail end of last season.

i would say we are light miles ahead of where we were a year ago.

Sounds like a Marcus Bean mould of player in terms of work rate. Can't say i know much of him but I would question why we couldn't keep Bean if we are looking at a player that sounds just like him?
