Not that I have any love for Pompay, but the end result is so unfair on their fans.

Blame Redknapp for the Pompey fiasco .. This is why levy wanted him out .. High wagesfor old players
Redknapp isn't the board. He just wants good players, he doesn't set their wages. I agree they paid high wages for old players or at least overrated players, but it's up to the board to know the real value of a player.
And Levy's record of appointing managers is patchy. Who's to say Villas-Boas won't be the next Juande Ramos or Jacques Santini?
