Mid-field is the absolute lowest priority (ok, after goalkeepers). Diagouraga, Douglas, O'Conner, Forshaw, Reeves, Oyeleke is perfectly adequete for the central mid-field roles. Maybe there will be an injury here or there, but we can loan in if it gets that bad. I wouldn't suggest that it will though.

Two players in I would suspect, and we will probably use loans to fill in any gaps (whether season long or more likely, shorter deals).

Striker - Left back. I would be happy with this, just the two for now. LB is priority one.

With the triallists being released, I smell new signings... Are Text updates being promoted on the O/S at the mo?

IMHO, don't think Reeves or Oyeleke can be counted as nailed on for 1st team this season. Dave goes missing in some games, O'Conner prob used as sub. Will be interesting to see who Uwe brings in.

If Reeves doesn't make the first team this year, then he should really question whether he should be at the club or not. He is at an age where reserve/dev squad or whatever it wants to be called should not be his week in week out games.
He should be playing league football. He showed last season he has the ability. He has appeared to have come back stronger this pre season and there is no reason why he should not be given a chance. Every other club gives there players a chance..... why not us?

Oh I agree with all of those assessments, but if we do get injuries to our main line-up they are perfectly adequete back up, probably as good as any loanees who we'd bring in to fill the void.

Does anyone seriously still want to start games with Dave and Douglas? I love Dave but I don't think a season with him starting many games will get us over the line.
Far too old for a mid-life crsis

Agree, however again IMHO. If Uwe does bring in anyone then they will be better than what we currently have, or what's the point. As you say they are adequate back up, but I sincerely hope Uwe is looking for more than adequate. No offence mate.

Forums are about opinions And you have a point, I suppose it depends on who got injured, if it was Douglas I would hope we'd look for a replacement. If it was Forshaw or Diagouraga I think the back ups that we have can fill their roles quite well.

I am still worries that we are going into the season with only two strikers. What will be Plan B, if either Clayton or Farid pick up even medium term injuries early on?
Last season was marred for the want of an effective strike force.

    Midfield were fine
Douglas, Dave, Forshaw, Reeves and Kevin.
Also we have Saunders, Forrester, Dallas and Weston.

Don't forget we can still make 5 loan deals, if we can find better I'm sure we will do our best to sign them but if you can't you work with what you have and I'm confident with our midfield.
    Goalkeepers are fine.
I reckon we need two signings a left back and one more striker. At worst we can still loan in 3 more if those two happen to be on loan, but Uwe said he wanted 3senior strikers and one loanee, but this is football

Still believe we have a good squad and foundations in place. Definalty going to be an exciting season in Uwe we trust

Simple answer NO,as good as Dave can be he goes missing in too many games for me we have better starters in his position.

Good signing, Lowe is a consistant goalscorer. Charlie slips down the pecking order and gets the hump, probably end up back at Sarfend
Football is not a matter of life or death, it's more important than that.

Getting a little bit concerned with the lack of signings, only 9 days before the season starts, and we haven't a left Back and only two first choice forwards at the club.

How many first choice forwards do we want ? Are we planning to play 3-3-4?

(I agree with your post incidentally, be good to get a couple more in this week).
