I don't believe that there is no budget left, I think things have changed for the better on that score.
Vote BLUNSTONE - maybe out of touch but closer than what we already have.

I am pretty certain we do !
Even at Sunday league level all players are insured against serious injury and long lay offs from employment, due to injuries in football.

But does that give you, the club, funds to go and get a replacement if one of your hotshots gets an injury?

Similarly, I'm sure if, God forbid, Farid's career ended then he'd be covered by the club.

My doubts were about the club being covered for replacements. I'd have guessed that players were covered for career-ending injuries and the like

How about cheeky bid for Jose Baxter, isn't his short term Oldham contract up this month. Reunite him with his everton pals.

Everton released 3 young midfielders, Wallace, Baxter and Forshaw.

All are pretty decent but I suspect we have got the best one.

looking at this, Forssell, Vassell and David Connolly all look like they might be worth a short term contract? One issue with all of them might be a lack of match fitness though...

I think the relationship with Everton helped us acquire a player we couldn't have attracted before MB and UR times.
I doubt we paid a huge amount for a relatively unproven youngster but expect Everton know the value of players they've had for 16 years so will have agreed a deal if he becomes the new Messi.

I'm assuming any 'fee' is appearance related plus a good sell on clause in Everton's favour? Although I think the transfer was announced as 'undisclosed fee'??

The point is we have a player that came to us with potential but no proven track record. Presumably Everton realised he wouldn't get first team football with them and in the absence of a decent bid from a bigger club probably negotiated a decent sell on fee,
For me any percentage of something is better than Forshaw not joining us.

I've seen that Emile Sinclair has been made available. Probably too much of an ask for us

Given the long lead up to signing Paul Hayes and we ended up with a forward who doesn't score goals.

Football is not a matter of life or death, it's more important than that.
