Or iPad 3 as it really is. Thinking of getting one but don't understand whether I should get 16gb or 32gb etc. What benefit will I see. Is it not really worth the extra money?

gbs is something to do with computers I think. Leatherhat told me about it once. Memory or speed I think. The higher the number the better.
Having looked at all the specs I note that the new one is much less likely to be covered in my sons smeared bogies as I won't tell him about it.
that would be an ecumenical matter...
I got a 32gb iPad 2 in November and have filled it up. Having said that there are enough crap Apps that I can delete to free up some space. I do think its worth paying that bit more for 32gb and if moneys no object then go for 64.
Every home should have an iPad. I don't work for Apple by the way, just love it.
Back in November I did wonder if I should wait til March but glad I didn't. Yes, they've made improvements but I'm still glad I've had mine for the last 5 months. They're always going to improve these on a nearly annual basis.
As someone else said, you can always sell your current one (keep all boxes etc) to help fund the updated one.
Get one, they're grrrrrreat.
Anyone who is willing to pay over £500 for a tablet is a mug. IMHO.

I purchase them in the USA (Under my company account) where they are cheaper than in the UK and as they are then "exported" the 8.5% sales tax is not charged at point of purchase as we have a Sales Tax Exemption for goods to be exported.
If they are available before my Mrs flys back next week she will have one of the new ones with her - (Which will of course mean that her 4 month old IPad II will be up for sale at a very reasonable price)
I'm hijacking this thread, so apologies, but I'm waiting for the new MacBook Air 11" 2012, which is rumoured to be following the iPad3. As most of my serious use of a computer is writing reports, I feel the iPad is not for me as I need a keyboard. I also work on site quite a lot, meaning that portability is very important; I have a similarly small Dell atm. I'm Apple from way back (I still have an Apple XL, the Lisa II replacement!) and my son has a MacBook Pro, which is superb. Any (polite) input or comment is welcome.

You can get a keyboard for the iPad although curiously it forces you into portrait view.
If you sign up to iTunes match you can save a lot of storage space as music will only download when played rather than sit on the iPad. Not sure why it doesn't stream to iPad though beyond the usual apple contrarianism.
I can't see any compelling reason to upgrade from iPad 2 to the latest one but if you haven't already got one the new spec and display look great.

I think I'll wait for the iPad 4... it's rumoured to have a flip-up screen, keyboard and DVD drive.......

Mr Mrs is getting a Kindle Fire on Monday. Only $199.
Every day I think of my Lauren.
Can anyone recommend a case for the Ipad?
Have the new ipad. Think it's great and the screen is something else and the main selling point. If one has an ipad 2 then personally no need to upgrade IMO (and wait for the ipad 4), however if one has the ipad 1 then certainly would recommend you to upgrade.

Re exchange of PM's - As Indian Bee says above, if you have an IPad 2 then changing to IPad 3 not really worth the cost unless you need dogs gangly bits graphics - My office in the USA have done the research and have decided that the upgrade to 3 not worth the bother as the "New" bits would not be used in our applications.
Cheers, will talk on Sunday. I have no iPad but it seems new one isn't essential kit from what you day so iPad2 might be the way forward.
I've heard the upgrade in graphics are rather phenomenal but haven't been arsed to check for myself. Happy to keep my iPad 2 and wait and see what next March brings. I don't think the new retina display will make that much difference to Tulisa considering it was originally shot on a rather old phone.
And the new issue of Beesotted is available to download from www.magcloud.com for iPad owners! Type Brentford into the search field on Magcloud.

I must admit my collection is fairly limited based on the fact that I dont really listen to music very often. Talk sport in the car and then music when I go running. Wife always has the radio on in the car and I actually find myself getting really aggressive about the constant repetition of god awful ear burning pop music and DJ's who just need their faces smashed in. If I hear that frigging "move like jagger" song just one more time...utter garbage. I am unbearable on any journey particularly as I can't turn it off as the kids want to listen to all that pap.
Anyway, back to topic.... I am thinking of getting an ipad but my question is whether to go mobile or wifi. How much does it cost a month? I would begrudge paying a lot as I get a blackberry from work (utter crap for internet access) and they are trying to give me a cius.
