And Sunderland won another penalty after their attacker initiated contact : wonder how long they will be able to get away with that before the referees work that tactic out?

Bad “professional” advice?

On a slightly different note, the top 8 teams in last season’s Italian Serie A get a bye into the last 16 of this season’s Coppa Italia … and Italy only has 1 cup competition in which the Serie A clubs take part 😲

Sure, but EFL clubs have free midweeks in the New Year, the likes of Villa don’t, in case they progress to the later stages of European competition. Everyone knows the rules of the Carabao Cup before the competition starts, this really isn’t a...

But they can’t extend the “play by” dates for each round, with European football and international breaks, there simply aren’t any other weeks available! And “play by” dates are for the likes of County Cups (no disrespect intended)

Get a grip guys, if Robinson had played 3 minutes of added time and one of our players had suffered an injury in that time, you would have been complaining about unnecessarily playing those extra 3 minutes

But he’s always come across as a “big team” referee (most egregious example, Norwich at home in our 1st season in the Championship) so maybe that will work in our favour?
