England tour of The West Indies 2023.
31 off 7 balls from Harry to win the game but hats off to Phil Salt for a top class century
S/R of 443 today. Not bad.Going to be the best white ball batsman in the world one day.
Harry Brook remember the name!
Not much chance of forgetting, will be an England great.Harry Brook remember the name!
Please tell me this isn't your first intro to him?Harry Brook remember the name!
Wow some people don't remember the t20 world cup final that the windes won and the commentary. This went down far better in Barbados! Please tell me this isn't your first intro to him?
He'll be bigger than Root & Stokes. He's probably the best all forms cricketer we're likely to see for years.
Brook has barely played any ODI cricket, far too early to call him a flop in the format. This thread lol. Trying not to offend anyone but I will no doubt ha ha but typical English overreaction here. Brook scored 31 in 7 balls against a bowler that the game before had his worst bowling record in T20 in his career. Brook has been a flop in ODI as noted in the recent WC and hardly done anything recently in the T20 format. Coupled with a poor IPL. He is a good player but not as a great as everyone makes him out to be.
I am also surprised not one single comment except from @Super_horns on Phil Salt wonderful 100 - he was the key to this England win. Brook to be the best white ball cricketer soon ha![]()
Went unsold in the IPL auction which was a bit of a surprisePhil Salt is a cracking player. Another 50 with a strike rate of 200.
Yep - very surprised.Went unsold in the IPL auction which was a bit of a surprise
Yes!England on course to beat their highest T20 score of 241?
Yes! 267-3.England on course to beat their highest T20 score of 241?
All cultured straight drives over long on or long off presumably ?30 6s in this match so far.
They ended up wherever they ended up.All cultured straight drives over long on or long off presumably ?
He's got the skills to be better than both, he will learn with experience as all youngsters do.Wow some people don't remember the t20 world cup final that the windes won and the commentary. This went down far better in Barbados!
He won't be better then Root. That's far too outlandish and he's not the same player as Stokes.
He is very talented but throws his wicket away far too often and doesn't know how to build a big score yet.
Root at his age was miles better.
Brook has the potential to go very far but he has to get smarter for that to happen imo.
A higher strike rate unless its t20 means nothing. He's got the skills to be better than both, he will learn with experience as all youngsters do.
Root vs Brook stats are interesting, with Brook currently holding a higher strike rate across all formats.
Maybe not at the moment, but he has enough in his locker to be as good (in my mind, I'll stick with saying he will be better).A higher strike rate unless its t20 means nothing.
Don't want to make it sound like I don't rate Brook as he's very good but come on he's nowhere near Joe Root!
I'll be very happy if he does go on to be better then Root!Maybe not at the moment, but he has enough in his locker to be as good (in my mind, I'll stick with saying he will be better).
Maybe we can bookmark these posts for 15/20 years time? ??

As a Yorkshireman I hope I'll never under appreciate Mr.Root! It's more about showcasing the level I think Harry Brook will reach.I'll be very happy if he does go on to be better then Root!
Whilst I think he will get better. I think people are probably under appreciating just how good Joe Root is!
Some batting display by England. ?WI 120-7 after 9. A win for them looking unlikely, but we all know that England has the ability to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, so who knows?
?Three ODI's and Five T20's.
First ODI this afternoon, starts at 1:30pm.
Should be a convincing win for England with West Indies in all kinds of disarray, what with some Islands looking to break away, and players being brought out of retirement, only to retire again.
LOL. Averages 16 odd in a 5 T20 series against the WI after being a total flop in the recent ODI World Cup (less not forget his flop in the IPL last year and his non contribution in the ODI series against NZ). BUT he scored 31 in 7 balls in a one off game. OkGoing to be the best white ball batsman in the world one day.
For the World Cup next year for England - you need to fit Topley - England best white ball format bowler by far.. Without looking at the games closely I sense spin will dominate on WI/ US wickets and Rashid has performed really well.i am off the opinion (from afar) that our seam / quick bowling is probably more of a concern than our batting.
Our reserve wicket keeper needs thought too before the t20 World Cup.
Salt's batting is now looking the business however his keeping is, at best, rusty but probably not up to international standards.
Bairstow was weak with the gloves since his rushed return.

I don't give the slightest sh*t about what you think about my opinions. I'm just a bit annoyed that your hiatus away from here didn't last longer. Much, much longer.
It is, you just got mine. Problem?Thought this forum was about all constructive opinions and one can challenge ?
No problem at all but you seem to have one about mine.It is, you just got mine. Problem?
