I think that'll be his final role before he retires... He'll find it improve his standing in the club game by managing Denmark unless they massively over perform expectations - very risky with relatively few games and having to put up with the players at your disposal.

Even if he won the Euros, say, I don't think it'd get him another chance with a big 6 PL club.

Yes, very amusing.
Spurs got into Europe 13 seasons in a row, biggest club stadium in London, and part of the super league breakaway six. We can laugh at their current struggles but they are most people's idea of a big team in the 2020s. All the more reason why getting relegated would have been funny. Just annoying we'e still only managed to beat them once.

Tin hat time, but (a) TF can go to any club he likes that wants to pay him. Enough credit in the bank here for me not to care.

(b) Once we got promoted, I'm not really sure he was that bothered about a Fulham rivalry. These kind of things exist more for the fans with the history, rather than a manager and players who won't give a stuff about it once they leave. I'm not sure that many treat it differently even when they're here.

But I wouldn't wish him ill - or think any less of him. He's a Bees legend and always will bee. Welcome back whenever he wants IMO - would love to see him have some kind of role with us one day.

As others have said - the opportunity to get back into management and not have to uproot your family, he's only got a couple of options there now, and it doesn't sound like Palace are going his way.

I'm a lifelong Bees fan, so I just couldn't do it - but for him I could totally understand being able to keep his kids in their schools with their mates, and actually being able to see them every day (opposed to commuting or spending a few nights a week in a hotel up north) - that he'd value that above a previous rivalry he had while here.

I hope he doesn't get the job, but if he does take it it won't change my opinion on him. He's not a Wissa.

Yeah, Thomas is a good manager and can easily get a good gig in England or abroad.

If you can relax and spend time educating yourself at the same time, while you are getting well-paid, I think it's a no brainer.

He got offered a job with way more money. Hindsight is a beautiful thing.

Spurs finished 17th the season before he joined, probably thought the first couple of seasons would be as safe as Brentford with the expectations.

I don’t think many managers want it safe. Once they’ve achieved what they can, it’s onto the next challenge. I’m sure he’ll bounce back at a club that isn’t a sh*tshow, with a view to European football soon enough

Just been reading the BBC ( yes I know ) pundit predictions on who will win the World Cup. Thomas knows he's playing to a British public but his reasoning and explanations he gives to his conclusions are more explanatory, in depth than any other pundit . His understanding and tactical thought process is years in front of any of the others.

Will be watching his analysis keenly. I hope he gets the job he wants, when he wants it as football is better with it, with him in it.

Wow, thanks for your input, it sure was valuable. On the other hand it was only 6 days (and 35 posts) ago that Sky Sports had a seemingly direct quote from him saying he won't be looking for anything this summer.
