Christian Eriksen (Wolfsburg)

I was thinking Hjulmand would try and bring him in given his attachment to the player........probably lazy hack reporting, but reports in Germany hinted that BL were keen to reunite the pair.

I could Google translate those 5 words into German in 2 minutes. But as above, maybe he did a series of versions.
When you're flurent in Dutch and Danish, German is just in between. I guess he'll the hang of it rather quickly.

Christian Eriksen saying some nice things about Thomas Frank and Brentford in an interview on The Spurs homepage.

"Back in December, 2021, seven months after the traumatising ordeal of his on-field cardiac arrest at the European Championships, Christian was without a Club after his contract at Inter was terminated mutually following the Italian Football Federation's ruling that he could not play in Italy having had an implanted cardioverter defibrillator fitted.

Having previously coached him for Denmark's Under-17s side, then Brentford boss Thomas reached out to Christian to offer him a chance to return to professional football - and poignantly the Premier League - with the Bees a month later - and it is for that opportunity and support that Christian will forever be thankful to our Head Coach.

"I came from a setback to being able to show what I could do as a footballer. Thomas gave me that chance and I’ll always be very thankful to him," Christian smiled as he reflected on his time under Thomas at Brentford where he played 11 times. "He knows how grateful I am for giving me that opportunity to come back and play again.

"It was a special time. Brentford are a special club and they had a great group of players there in my time.

"I am so happy to see Thomas continuing to do well at Spurs. First and foremost, Thomas is a good manager. As a person, he really is a great human being. He’s great at getting the best out of people and he’s a very good tactician."

Long interview/article in the Sunday Times today. Sorry, can't post detail as no longer have subscription:

Nothing particularly new, but a decent read for a Sunday morning, e.g.

Yeah, him, Ivan Toney and Thomas Frank - "getting the band back together again"
Do you still think his ability to "used to score long range goals, although hasn't managed one in the last 5 years" would be useful for us? :)

Christian Eriksen (Wolfsburg)

Good luck Christian, and thank you for your previous service with us 🫡

“You’re just a sh*t Mikkel Damsgaard”
to Christian Eriksen as he was warming up as a sub during last season’s 4-3 win over Man Utd was a genuinely funny moment and way to round off our involvement with him. “Thanks for what you did, shame about how you left, glad we’ve got better now.”

Seemed to be taken in good humour by all involved, given he’d previously been given a round of applause when he first came down into the SW corner. Made more memorable by the fact their Danish international colleague Rasmus Højlund was also warming up and couldn’t hide his mischievous grin when he heard the chant.

Watching him tonight in Wolfsburg’s crunch game at Koln. Wasted in the first half playing DM for some reason. A couple of decent passes, but that was it.
1-0 down, but that means nothing as both have the bad habit of losing from winning positions! Playing further forward for the second half, and affecting the game much more. Wolfsburg are pushing for an equaliser.

Christian Eriksen (Wolfsburg)

Captained Wolfsburg to defeat in the relegation playoff tonight. I wonder if the fact that he could kick a ball quite hard quite accurately 10yrs ago still means he's worth bringing back? A few people were still trotting that out laughably recently, but i think the ship might just have sailed...

Christian Eriksen (Wolfsburg)

Christian played his 150th game for the Danish National Team yesterday against DR Congo.
He played a game below his usual level and was substituted in 74th minute.

Christian Eriksen (Wolfsburg)

Christian Eriksen has just collapsed in the 69th minute of the match between Denmark and Ukraine.

He has been receiving treating on the pitch, while the Danish and Ukrainian players covered the sight with blankets.

He's now on his feet, and was able to walk out of the pitch to the waiting ambulance.

The game will not be resumed.

Christian Eriksen (Wolfsburg)

Some 25 minutes left of a friendly (with all the injury time)... no one seriously cares about the match being abandoned after that scare
I suspect that wasnt the aspect Catbee was commenting on, despite what they've quoted.

Christian Eriksen (Wolfsburg)

Pleased we played a part in his fantastic recovery.

I think all of us do not want to see a tragedy.

Christian please call it a day

Yes he needs to stop. I’m not a footballer apart from playing with grandsons. On Friday after a morning gardening and a walk of one mile I returned home and was consumed by chest pains. A call to 111 who called ambulance I was taken to Wycombe hospital where a stent was put into an artery. This all happened over a two hour period. I couldn’t believe I went from feeling so awful to feeling as if nothing had happened. The consultant said if my wife hadn’t acted as quick as she did I wouldn’t be here.
So Christian get your priorities right, remember the good times and enjoy being with your family. You’ve nothing to prove.

Can i ask a side question here..................... People saying he needs to call it a day.................. How do any of us know that its football that caused this? He has a heart condition, i suspect it could happen at any time regardless of the demands on his body.

Not looking for a argument here btw.

I’d agree with this. It’ll be a matter for his cardiologist/electrophysiologists to determine what happened to his heart and what the future holds.

They’ll be able to download pretty extensive data from his device so figuring out what happened shouldn’t be too difficult.

It's great to read this opinion from someone in exactly the same medical position from Eriksen. Not.
