I also don't think anyone pays "up front" these days unless they've just bene bought by a soverign wealth fund.
Swaps are always unlikely in practice anyway so you probably have nothing to fear.

I never worry about selling our players, if it is a big 6 we are going to coin it in. We have successfully replaced players every time, no point starting to worry about it now. We sold our best 3 players and nearly got into Europe, selling one more won't hurt.

You’re absolutely right in all respects To be honest I should have chosen another word, I am never worried about football in the true sense of the word. That said, I will be disappointed should Kayode go in the summer as I am sure that he will be even better this coming year. One more year will make us a stronger team, and mean a larger fee in 2027.

My perception was that we didn’t use it so much towards the end of the season. Did MK have some wear and tear in the upper limbs?
Schade, Pinnock, and Jensen have all done duty on aerial bombardment. Some have written on here that all 3 are leaving, so a new Saviour and backup could be required.

Given Schade / Pinnock / Jensen have all become quite good at it - we'd probably be able to train someone else up. Of course they wouldn't be as good at it as Kayode, but no one else is.

Though I think Keith did say that the comparative advantage we had on set pieces has been eroded by the likes of Arsenal doing it. So if we’ve decided long throws are just an ordinary part of everyone’s game and opponents will all be better drilled to expect and defend them, we may do them less often.

I think we risk being predictable by keeping long throws as a major regular tactical weapon. And predictability is the enemy of a club trying to find competitive edges.

The World Cup restriction of time for taking throw ins may be something we anticipate the PL adopting (maybe it has already voted to do so).

Kayode is also a very talented player with lots else to his game. His apparently chaotic diagonal dribbling runs from RB to midfield/LW are genuinely difficult for teams to defend as he seems to use them to take opponents out of shape. Getting someone to do those from LB too would be good.

I am sure the 5 second count starts as soon as he picks it up, just maje sure he jogs over slowly giving our players a few seconds to get into position. Shouldn't be too much of a challenge.

You wonder what a good return is on this, must 2-3 goals this season, but as for putting the oppo under pressure and to get them on the back foot.

I get bored of waiting for free kicks, corners and throws to be set up, it takes forever sometimes so anything to gee it up a bit. Free kicks on the edge of the area are the worst, the ref paces back and forth about 5 times painting lines, separating people, re drawing lines, checking all the angles, then 99% of all free kicks hit the wall or go 30 foot over the bar. What is the point, 2-3 mins waiting for that and we all know its such a damp squib every time. Get on with it FFS.
