I don't think Spence is the main culprit right now, and to be honest I can't blame him because he should be nowhere near the starting XI in the first place.

Everyone in England apart from Thomas Tuchel knew that Reece James was a liability where injuries are concerned, yet according to him "nobody could see it coming". Livramento got injured, we had Trent available and instead, Chalobah got called up.

Depending on the circumstances, for me, the blood is on Tuchel's hands if and when we're knocked out. Foden, Palmer, Gibbs-White, Maguire, Hall, Trent and Wharton are just some of the players we left at home, and no disrespect to DR Congo, but I think an XI containing those players beats this lot.

I was all for Tuchel experimenting prior to the World Cup, but the naivety or even arrogance to leave some of the bigger names at home I think is what will ultimately be our downfall.
