Concerts Coming to the GTech?

The Spuds are going spend-crazy because they make so much from concerts.
I know we don't have the same capacity...but if we can extract a bigger margin concerts, in our nice part of London, and boost our PSR finances then why not!

The accumulation of events - they had 16 a year and now have permission for 30 apparently - will make them decent cash though not sure it would buy one of Tonali's legs let alone a whole player. I'm not it makes a huge difference to them and nor would the correspondingly smaller numbers for us - we are only talking about six events - but I suppose every little helps.

A lot of focus on food and drink sales in the Spurs article. Sceptical we designed the stadium for making the most money from this sort of thing. If the stage would be in front of the West Stand for access that obscures the larger end and the end with the more bars - unless you allow people to access the West Stand just for that. One of those wouldn't it be nice if the stadium could have been bigger or fancier in the first place "what ifs". It'd be great for Naomi Oppenheimer's Instagram feed though, I'm sure. Or whatever her name was.

Sceptical we will get this through the council unless there's something massively in it for them and local residents. When we built the stadium we could point out we were a community club that needed a new home and it would regenerate a sizeable bit of land, and more new homes. That's all happened (GP will be developed eventually) - all this does is make more money for a PL football club and a lot of noise for neighbours some of whom are a lot closer than the Chiswick NIMBYs of a decade ago - just because they owe their flat to the stadium project it doesn't mean they won't object. I'm most fans are in favour as it makes money for the team at no inconvenience to anyone living more than a mile away but some will be very unhappy. At least the ones in my local park the fee goes to the council... That'd be their argument I'm sure.

Guess it might depend who the shows are by....
An intimate Rolling Stones gig at the Gtech....might appeal to some of the Chiserati....with a sneaky £30 markup to BFC on a ticket as money's no issue to them

We'll get this approved and If we make £300-500k profit per night it's worth doing. I can't bang on about cheap admission and then also turn my nose up to something that help support those goals. Our legions of sales and marketing teams need to pull their finger out, so let them get on with it.

Oh I'm certainly not turning my nose up at it, if it helps subsidise the football side it's a Good Thing. I'm just imagining it being hard to get approval.

Depends what kind of music they want . If it's Andre Rieu , dolly parton or proms in the park I'm sure it'll get waived through.
