New memberships / ticket buying for 26/27

Yes same for my son. Just emailed the ticket office.

And got told to phone in to sort the issue rather than Brentford get the poxy, misleading website corrected asap.

I wonder how many just pay the extra £5 per member in the belief they've missed out on the renewal deadline?

The whole administration of the memberships, especially for kids, is all a bit of a dog's dinner. I was told they would auto-renew which they didn't so then I did it manually and got the "error" message but the payment seemed to go through anyway.

Both of mine are registered under the same email address which I know isn't right but I don't have the energy to try and correct it.

The thing I don't understand is that for the Eintracht Friendly, they're charging £10.10 GA and £7.07 for Seniors/Juniors. Why not just charge £7.00 for the latter, but £11 for the former? I doubt anyone's who's interested enough to pay £10 for the game would baulk at paying an extra quid if they didn't know, and the club would generate more revenue overall without pissing everyone off with this silly 1% charge.
If people aren't gonna baulk at an extra quid why are we passing on the 7p (and then some)?

This is the incredible thing. Just build it into your cost base. Saves any PR aggro.

Made no difference, still got charged 7p handling fee FFS!
They have to do that otherwise it’s not legal to just penalise card payers. I assume they have the law on their side before going ahead with this nonsense.

Absolute silence. They’ve gone completely native. The chair must be playing the long game for a similar role at Bees United one day.

Yes, seems that way. Always at hand to explain why the club have found new ways to charge fans though, which you'd have thought would be in the remit of the half dozen or so 'fan engagement' staff on the club's payroll.

Are they supposed to tell you what they're doing the whole time? Any reason why you left btw? Obviously not interested eh.

Get on to them tomorrow, at the very least they should credit your account.

For anyone else, you have until the end of August to claim the renewal price instead of the full cost as per this on the ticketing site -

And not one of the three 'manage memberships' links on that page works to send you to the renewal page.

They aren’t telling anyone what they are doing, never mind me. The club’s lap dogs now under this chair.

For the exact reason that is just playing out now. No I in BIAS since 2024.
you have a strange idea of what "independent" means. It doesn't mean firebombing houses.

As someone without goes to watch football and wouldn’t recognise our players outside team kit, genuinely interested why your ire is focused on BIAS that appears to have little influence vs Bees United who have fan representation on the Brentford FC (not parent Best Intentions Analytics Limited (BIA)) Board?
Given the relative positions in the corridors of power, seems like giving BIAS a hard time is a tad churlish.

Well no, but a simple 'we've raised this with the club' wouldn't hurt to see, especially when at least one person has said they've paid more than they should due to the unclear ticketing website as well as numerous others having difficulties around renewing. Or a 'thanks for letting us know, we'll feedback to the club'.....

I will reply to the ticket office's email telling me to phone in with the info I posted last night as getting HB Jnr's membership doesn't sort the issue for my fellow fans, but of course even as a member of BIAS my influence is far far lower than BIAS themselves cajoling the club to get this fixed asap (I'll also cc in the [email protected] email address assuming that's the best one to include), especially as I'm just replying to a member of the ticket office team, not any higher level of authority.

At the moment this smacks of the club being happy to rinse a few extra quid from supporters along with the ridiculously petty transaction fee that BIAS haven't publicly addressed, which is one of those things I do expect BIAS to raise an issue with. My impression, apologies if I'm incorrect, is that BU went to ground once they'd got a seat on the board, you don't hear anything from them anymore on anything whereas to their credit BIAS generally do engage with the fan base. Just my personal opinion but I don't see BU as any sort of fans reps now, couldn't even tell you if anyone involved in BU posts on here.

Of course I don't expect them to oppose absolutely everything as picking your battles is far wiser, but the club hitting the pockets of Brentford fans for petty things like transaction fees and collecting merchandise from the club shop (!) imho should be addressed by fans reps before they become ever larger fees when the club feel confident they can get away with it without opposition.

Hi Houghton Bee,

On the question of discounted Membership Renewal issues, i will be writing into the club later today. Apologies, but have not had time to do this earlier, life had intervened. Agree with you that this is a clunky issue that doesnt appear to work seemlessly, and where the signposting is poor. It is though far better than last year where discounted renewal didnt seem to work at all. We were therefore in full communication with the club, and this year the discounted option was at least available on the dropdown menu (if you clicked on the membership box, as renewal was not the default option). I successfully renewed a Membership for a friend so i have checked it works. But maybe its not worked for other fans.

As regards raising issues via GpG, am not sure we have a duty to scan GpG daily for issues. As you have mentioned, [email protected] is the official way for Bias members to notify us of an issue that they would like taken up with the club.

Will feedback here anything we hear on this topic.

Quick question on memberships now I have finally worked out how to set up an account for my daughter!
She is due to turn 3 on August 10th, but I have been told to buy the membership for 0-2 as the membership starts on August 1st regardless of age. Is this correct as I was juts going to purchase it on the 10th, but was advised that it will make no difference.

As far as I can remember from HB Jnr changing categories the only real difference is in the goody bag they send out to the kids. The 0-2 age bracket generally will be soft toys and baby orientated stuff, with the next step up getting puzzles, reading cards and colouring in type bits etc. I'd probably go a step up and if the club are bothered they can always contact you to amend it.

Edit - Just seen there is a £10 difference, so I'd actually go low!

Does anyone know what age category I should buy for a 13 year old - tried the website but get directly to an error 404 and the club are not answering the phone!

I believe this is correct.
This page is a few years old

but it said "Please purchase the correct Membership based on your age on 1 August 2022."

1% increase on tickets is the start of 2% to 3% etc.
Does this mean 1% on a programme,cup of coffee,pint of pride ?

I guess it replaces the postage that a few of us paid twice for and never got a refund or was always over priced.
The £1 postage was a nominal fee. When was the last time you could buy a stamp and an envelope for £1?

New memberships / ticket buying for 26/27

So they make it impossible to pay by any other means and then impose a surcharge for using the method of payment they force you to use. Brilliant, typical Brentford to come up wth it’s sort of sh*t!
Don't you buy any tickets online anywhere else? Even the cinema shows the ticket plus the booking fee? And we're moaning about 1% when the actual cost to the club is way more.
We have tickets priced among the cheapest in the league

Every day, 91p for the stamp and 8p for the envelope if I buy 50.

What's that got to do with it?

They're all a f***ing scam as well, makes you think it is cheaper than it really is. Plus this plus that, most of which I have no choice about, just give me the real price, if you have a cost of doing business include this in your price.

Just because they are among the cheapest already doesn't mean we should tolerate this nonsense. Like I said they'll be applying a 50% surcharge soon and telling us they haven't put prices up because the base is the same.

Coming to a ticket site near you "Premier League football for 1p*"

*plus £50 booking fee

When i had to buy 4 away tickets in 3 different windows they would often be sent in one envelope.
The club used a franking machine and would buy envelopes in the thousands supplied by Wernham Hogg in Slough.
They did not actually go to the corner shop and buy 1 stamp and 1 envelope .

If we had carried on using them, they might not have had to merge with their Swindon branch and avoided the subsequent job losses.

I've exchanged a few messages with the club and this seems to be a known issue - "it should allow you to see your membership now on the management section soon, it just takes a bit of time for the website to update"

So the answer is to be patient and check back later.

As an aside, I used WhatsApp for Brentford FC Support and it was a really good experience, so I recommend that if you ever have an issue

For what its worth.... this still doesn't work and they haven't updated the website :ROFLMAO:

Not really bothered, but why 1% on a ticket bought using credit on account.
Same as mentioned before,a booking fee is the way round card fee, these companies think we are stupid, yet stupidly we put up with it.

Finally got around to sending a follow up email and cced in @BIAS ( @Raise The Roof ). Very poor that this hasn't been resolved yet.

No reply 2 days on (BIAS have replied though ). Website still showing incorrect info, and no option to renew.
