Salah to get further in the tournament than Messi and Ronaldo?![]()
Harsh re that second goal imo - it was close enough in and going like a rocket.Keeper has been poor for both Argentina goals.
They’ve been robbed. The agenda was clear from the opening game when Messi somehow wasn’t sent off for the most obvious red card of the tournament. Spineless officiatingLosing with dignity really isn’t a thing anymore, is it?
Told you soWhat are Egypt doing sitting back so much Argies wil win this 3-2

Says the guy watching it back at home from his TVIt’s ridiculous how emotional coaches and players get over incidents they’ve probably not even seen clearly. Yes there was contact, but not enough for a pen
So you think it was a pen?Says the guy watching it back at home from his TV![]()
Easy - in the second picture the Egyptian player has already lost possession of the ball
Sorry, but superstar Salah getting through, 120m Egyptians going potty and another African team in the quarters etc, would be a pretty big "story" for FIFA, too.Did VAR even look at that or is this just all about bending the rules together help Messi get to the final, wouldn’t be surprised.

Spot the differenceeither both are fouls or neither are fouls

Say what you like, but we shouldn't be too surprised at Argentina having too much for Egypt, even if they have to do it the hard way, with controversy along the way.

Yep. Had a glorious chance to win it with that break they screwed up, then terrible defending for the winner.Egypt messed up and switched off at the back.. got punished by a quality team . No one to blame but themselves after putting themselves into a fantastic position
You say that but there were a few occasions the ref didn’t blow for one of those obvious dives. For some reason it has always been ok in world cups for cynical teams to persistently foul, leave the foot in and give digs off the ball, but if you dare touch them back you will be carded or sent off.
Never understood it
There may be contention over the last goa and I and sure we will see it at some point, the TV companies are making sure you don’t see anything during the game until the decision is made, but Egypt went into defensive mode and I voted them on.
They had another 2-3 counter attacks they simply wasted and Salah not passing tha ball and trying to beat everyone himself, which has been his thing for a while, gives the ball away in injury time when the whole team was up top.
Yes, but he was on his way to the floor when the Egyptian player tugged his shirt. There’s no getting away from it FIFA love Messi and no doubt want a France v Argentina finalThe top one had a shirt pull afterwards
Yep, Egypt lost because they failed in their "game management" firstly, then they lost their composure. Which is the difference between a challenger like them, and a battle-hardened team like Argentina. You say that but there were a few occasions the ref didn’t blow for one of those obvious dives.
I’m sure all of us collectively were pushing for Egypt to see it through. But if you would rather spend the few precious minutes left arguing and ranting on the pitch rather than pushing for that one more attack (considering they carved Argentina open on quite a few occasions) you might as well say that’s that.
Egypt did brilliantly to get to 0-2, but you have to credit Argentina for coming back.
Yeah I don’t mind going for a killer goal whilst the opposition are overcomitting but there’s no need for you to overcommit too.Yep, Egypt lost because they failed in their "game management" firstly, then they lost their composure. Which is the difference between a challenger like them, and a battle-hardened team like Argentina.
And I say all that as s.o. who really wanted Egypt to win.
Had to google that:And for Egypt, our saying would be "pecho frío".
Welcome!Had to google that:
"The phrase "pecho frío" literally means "cold chest" and is used to describe someone, especially an athlete, who chokes under pressure and fails to perform when it matters most. It signifies a lack of passion and heart in crucial moments, making it one of the harshest criticisms in sports, particularly in Argentine and Uruguayan football culture."
Thanks.![]()
