That was tough. A bit disjointed at times but a lot of effort. Forced into subs that unsettled us at the beginning of the second half, but got those last few subs right. Rogers and Spence had a great impact on the game.

Norway are no mugs - sit deep but then can force a change in momentum that's tricky to deal with.

Great win for us. Did very well in extra time. Tuchel using the squad very well.

Go tuchel shove it back to him

I disagree with him. England smashed Norway. Harlaand didn't have a sniff. And Norway had a lucky goal.
Exactly. England won on xG, possession, shots, shots on target and touches in the opposition box.

Haaland was nowhere and got England flu during ET.

Tuchel telling it as it was. He’s quite correct.

I thought his substitutions were very clever with bringing Hames and Spence on who can play multiple positions and did so. Obviously wanted to play for the win rather than expecting penalties, although it would have been nice to see Ivan come on. He’s obviously keeping him for the final!!

Bellingham getting the hump with matey now :ROFLMAO:

Full Time: Norway 1-2 England

Bellingham nah the managers a ******

Full Time: Norway 1-2 England

England ultimately had more depth and more desire. But seeing Kane jaw to the ref endlessly and Spence’s dive in the box and Bellingham going to ground and Pickford using all his time wasting tricks all point to their needing to use every single tool at their disposal to get the win.
I was rooting for Norway, especially for Ajer to get that header, but would LOVE to see England beat Argentina (or Switzerland) — so please don’t come for me! lol

Full Time: Norway 1-2 England

Disappointing that there wasn't a last, honourable row. One of the memorable moments of this world cup.

Full Time: Norway 1-2 England

Conveniently left out that Tuchel said Bellingham was "world class" minutes earlier. Heat of the moment stuff and the interviewer as always is fishing for a headline.

Roy Keane is right. England are not going to suddenly start playing well. This is us, take it or leave it, you never know it might be enough.

England showed a completely different style of play against Mexico where we were both intense and technically sound for much of the game (until the red card threw a spanner in the works). That was only a game ago so suddenly doesn't come into it. England have another gear which they'll have to find if they want to go and win the thing as opposed to perhaps slipping past Argentina and losing resoundingly to France.

Got a couple of grumpy emails from some pals up here, I had fun replying that this was probably the most corrupt, disgraceful WC ever and I am looking forward to Wednesday and happy

Saka started like he has played all season. Then 20 mins he wa very good

Gabriel Clarke, what a vindictive sh*t-stirring tw@t! Tuchel rounds on him and he dumps it straight on Bellingham , not giving a Tom Tit if that undermines camp unity . W&nkar

Full Time: Norway 1-2 England

I thought Clarke was entitled to ask his questions and Tuchel and Bellingham were equally entitled to reply as they did - made for excellent television.

While I watched this on ITV for a change over BBC (normally can't stand Roy Keane), but you know what? I think I actually prefer watching adverts over those dipsticks Shearer and (esp) Richards.

Meanwhile, Pougatch's little question/dig to Keane about managers and players contradicting each other was pure gold. :sorted:

Sorry, but it's not his job to uphold camp unity etc, it's to ask probing questions which elicit interesting replies etc.

And be fair, you can't deny that both Tuchel's and Bellingham's responses were just that.

Norway 1 Bellingham 2

He’s an absolute superstar. He might just drag us over the line.

No need to apologise. He was clearly irked at Thomas’reaction to his stupid question and couldn’t help himself from telling Bellingham then, later, Kane what the coach had just said about them. Knob! All before Tuchel had had chance to say this in the dressing room.

Immediately shows what a dick he is by stirring sh*t with Bellingham
Hang on. Bellingham was saying it was brilliant etc, without knowing that Tuchel had said it was crap (paraphrasing).

Clarke's not there as some sort of fanboy, imo it would actually have been a dereliction of his duty as a journalist had he not followed up to Bellingham with a reference to Tuchel.

But although Tuchel was perfectly entitled to reply as he did, he didn't have to - he could have done like eg Kane did in batting away the question, then kept his (Tuchel's) criticisms for the dressing room,

I thought all four (Tuchel, Bellingham, Kane and Clarke) were doing his job as each thought fit and should be well capable of handling it.

Either way, it was far superior to the dull, bland, media-coached crap that constitute most post-match interviews.

That sort of thing is given as a foul many many many times in every game. Just not in the penalty box often. I’m not sure how you can overturn it on that basis. Not give it maybe.
Madison buys 2 or 3 fouls every game like that - well he did till he got crocked.
