I think its a great signing , 35m for a high class 29 year old midfielder .

Tielemans doesn't rely on his engine, never been a great athlete. Villa had to cover for his lack of off the ball work and so will United, but on the ball he is very gifted.

At Leverkusen Alonso mostly played a 3-4-3 with 2 number 10s behind the striker and all the width coming from the wing backs. So maybe Palmer and Rogers will be used like that.

It’s funny how they keep signing new managers that need completely different systems and players. What a stupid way to run a club.

I know it’s been a long old season, but he hardly looked like a £100m player last night. A chance to shine amongst global stars, but not really taken.

Tielemans (29) Man Utd £35m
Rogers (23) Chelsea £117m
In:
Manzambi (20) Freiburg £50m
Gomes (25) Wolves £38m

Add to McGinn and Onana, who is out until 2027 with an ACL injury picked up at the World Cup, and they've refreshed well and should help with their PSR situation.

Sure. But then what happens to Neto, Garnacho, Gittens, Estevao, Quenda? That's a lot of players who don't fit into the system...Or to be backup to Rogers and Palmer and the walking red card GTA cutscene.

I am sure those at Chelsea are likely out of reach but I quite like Gittens. 👍

Arsenal probably want some bodies in sharpish, anyway, to get off to a decent start. Rice and Saka overplayed and not fully fit, and Saliba injured. Could all be missing for some weeks, if not months.
The Sun has them signing John Stones as a stop gap, now he’s unattached.

Have they ? They seem to sell the family silver at the last minute as they are right up against it financially and they've replaced them with an untried youngster and someone from wolves

Ipswich have sprung into action (according to SSN), trying to get at least 3 signings completed at the moment. One of these is Maeda from Celtic (& Japan).
Some, on the other thread, speculated that we should have gone for him. Talks with Ipswich ongoing.

Credit to West Ham for finding a club with more money than sense to flog Summervilel to, but it does make a mockery of the game.

Clubs that are genuinely trying to balance the books, remaing financially profitable and then here's come an offer far more than a player's worth. I know Fernandes and Summerville wre both standout players, but that's a relegated side making £153m out of two transfers.

Here's a thought, one way to put an end to the Kevin Schade debate once and for all, is that we send colin from accounts on a ten day trip to Riyadh, with the simple task of knocking on every club's door and 'offering' them the chance to sign him for a cool £80m.

Which is why I have far great appreciation for phil getting Jaidon for £17m than I ever will selling good but no better than that players for astronomical fees.

No, he’s being loaned out to Benfica from Saudi club. Think it’s his 7th club in 3 years!! Still only 22
