He already seems to defend more than attack from front (even though he still scores). Just don't know how much more attack from the back he will do going forward.

5 players, mainly forwards and their keeper, started v Spain whilst 2 others have started in at least 2 other games this world cup.

This isnt some weak France team either anyway.
That third goal.. could have done that v Argentina. They were attacking so much that a counter like that was very possible.

I kinda agree with him to be fair.
We invited so much pressure it was inevitable they would score.
And made worse by not changing when it went 1-1. Seemed like we thought it would stay 1-1 until end and we can reset then.
If we'd have had some pace going forward (ones on the pitch were knackered) we'd have been able to trouble their defence and pull them back a bit.

Irrespective of the reason for this game, but there is no way the French players don’t care about losing to England. They haven’t played well because they haven’t had the ball, just like against Spain. The best offensive players in the world don’t play well if their teammates don’t get them the ball.

A lots of ‘what if’s, but a good performance by England to bring a bit of reality after the last few days.

Tonight is a completely different affair, it would be wrong to extrapolate anything from this about previous games.

Tonight is fun, I thought we wouldn't turn up, as it is France haven't, so I am just enjoying watching us tank France. In years to come people only see the score not the performance or the nuance.
