GPG Fantasy NFL League

Was just wondering if there would be any interest in this given the growth of both our fanbase and UK inrerest in NFL.

It would be Yahoo! based and Head 2 Head scoring. I'd envisge a live draft sometime towards the end of August. You will need/need to set up a Yahoo! account.

Hope there's enough interest, please reply here if keen.

There was a GPG ESPN one but I prefer Yahoo and so I am in.

There still is a GPG one. Been running since 2009 and it's as tough as always. Thanks to Pixelator for his work every year. Occasionally we get a spare spot if anyone wants to join or be put on a waiting list. For that reason alone, I'll be sticking with Paul and our ESPN one. Really haven't got the time to do more fantasy leagues with all the others that exist for Football and NFL.

Likewise, I’ll be sticking to the existing one. This will be the first time in about 5+ years I’ll be able to attend the draft without being on holiday pissed up on the all inclusive drinks

I’ve just reactivated our league on ESPN, we’ll see who returns. 10 of us are GPG members, and we have a couple of interlopers from Southport and Sunderland. I think 9 of us have been there from the start, and we’ve only had about 6 changes of team owner in 15 years. And vacancies don’t tend to get advertised on the GPG as @SC usually has a mate who wants to join! So there are no toes to get stepped on.

I’ve wondered if there’s enough interest for another league of Bees fans, but never had the time or energy to do anything about it as I’m also in 2 huge dynasty leagues, like 53-man rosters and starting 22 players full offence and defence!

Good luck with getting your Yahoo league going. Of course you can start small - I think 8 teams is the realistic minimum - and build up from there. And a word of warning - the draft is the best bit of the season but it's also the most time-consuming. You need to dedicate several hours to preparing your draft board and doing some mock drafts. Going into a live online draft unprepared rarely turns out well.

My playoff fantasy game will remain open to all GPGers, although next year I’m planning to open it up to everyone I play fantasy with cos I’m tired of winning it every year.

BTW, @SC, I’m thinking of going to a couple of Southport games in Feb ‘27, in Southport Pete’s honour. Including a derby at Morecambe. #fisticuffs
