Went to Uni with a bloke from Listowel he was let’s say special and completely mental absolutely no life experiences in normal stuff like getting a bus. But extremely competent in gambling and drinking. He got thrown out of halls of residence for smashing his room up and throwing most of it out the window after a GAA club game on St Patrick’s Day which caused a significant lump on bet to go south

They fully deserved their win. They were the better team and Sam gets to make a long awaited trip to that part of the West. I'm sure the folks from Ballyhaunis to Charlestown and all parts in between will have some night tonight, tomorrow and beyond.

As for Kerry they'll be disappointed with their performance but I'm sure they'll use it as fuel for next year's attempt at getting Sam back. I'm sure tomorrow's edition of Terrace Talk on Radio Kerry will be a feisty affair.

Curses do eventually end. As we found out a few years back at Wembley and the folks in Mayo found out today.

My memories of this airport are of me scrambling around on hands and knees, re-distributing items of luggage so as to defeat the Ryanair gestapo! All with a massive post-wedding hangover. There’ll be a few more hangovers passing through there over the next few days!

With no dog in the fight, it was an absolutely gripping match start-to-finish. Down at the beginning by what seemed like an insurmountable amount, they just kept coming and coming. Held on, but only just. I almost got a bit teary at how much it meant to so many. Incredible. Congratulations to Mayo!

My Listowel niece is actually in this country at the moment.

She watched the game in a Mayo shirt as did my nephew. Her husband and two of her children had Kerry shirts. The youngest child had a half Kerry, half Mayo shirt - a hand me down from the older ones. Who knew such an item existed?

Watched the final and got totally caught up, even if some of the rules beyond me. Family from Kilkenny so mainly hurling but could definitely see the appeal of the sport!!
