The goals stopped flowing when he got his first call up. Was he distracted or avoiding injury or marked more closely - or none of the above?

As to next season he’s too good a striker for the barren patch to continue.
None of the above imo.

He started all but one league game last season and was a sub in that one.He worked his nuts off every game and that's going to take it's toll.Even if he was fighting fit for every one of those, then as you mentioned strikers still have barren spells anyway or they'd all be hitting 40 goals a season.

To add to that our end of season team wasn't our best eleven with the injuries we had so we were less creative and that would affect his output as well.

This one is. And I speculate the next one will also.

Nocoat’s prediction is correct. Could also be posted in “Signs we are a Big Club” when Polish media start click baiting using our players. Translation:
Igor Thiago could be one of the stars of the Premier League's summer transfer window. According to Brazilian outlet RTI Esporte. The Brentford striker is on the radar of Arsenal and Manchester United. However, the English club will negotiate hard and is demanding up to €90 million for their striker.

I must admit that I don't expect to read much sense from those who've joined this forum since we became an established PL club, but this is a new low. I'd get more sense listening to my goldfish.
Is your goldfish for sale?

€90m? Which leg is that for?

Still hoping this has legs. Pretty please ? And then the club (not "we" - can people stop using "we" as if we have any part to play / "we" are nothing more and never will and should never be more than very casual observers/ fans from afar unless you're from the US in which case have close affliction to the apple orchards of West Ealing circa 1890)) can sign a proper striker who doesn't go missing for the last 11 games and pathetically attribute everything he ever does to 'powers' above. It's actually an insult, if not intended, to his mother, upbringing and hardship and all round hard work (nothing of which can ever be held against him).

Or, we can stop bumping old threads, we can respect players and allow them to believe in whatever religion they want and not complain when they practice it, and we can sign some depth that will allow the record setting striker to not be exhausted by season’s end

Oh wait we already did that last one.

Shut up dude.

One of the most bizarre and objectionable posts I've read on this forum

Aside from the peculiar comments on Igor, we are very much part of this club. The only thing left of the club from, lets say, 25 years ago, are the supporters, i.e. us. Nothing else is left from that time. So yes it is WE. I assume you are a member or season ticket holder and that makes you part of the club.

Don't rise to it.

They are a troll and probably not even a Bees fan.

41 years of support does that to you.

Probably less than 25% of our fan base now.

I still haven't worked out this bit...."unless you're from the US in which case have close affliction to the apple orchards of West Ealing circa 1890".

In the 19th Century there were abundant apple orchards throughout Middlesex, including Brentford, supplying London. No doubt migrant American familles still carried tales family of the past.

Igor Thiago (Chelsea)

I was going to suggest 'don't bump a player transfer thread that has been quiet for days unless there is a new update' to the transfer etiquette thread.

If someone wants to come in for Igor they're welcome to throw a massive offer at us. But I just don't see it this window. Chelsea don't need a forward and they were the most likely club to come in.

I think they either meant 'affiliation' or 'affection' so nowhere near as clever as they'd like to think themselves. Don't do it kids! Drugs are for mugs.
