Hi Houghton Bee fans.

I've renewed last season's GPG FPL for the new season, therefore if you were in last year you will be auto-enrolled for this season. As per last season please do not share the password with people not cool enough to be on here, imho it just takes a little bit away from the purpose of this league, it's easy enough to set up your own family/friends/colleagues mini-league

If you were not involved last season please send me a PM for the password and I'll do my best to reply quickly. I'm away between 12-19 Aug so I won't be on here as much, so please have patience you WILL get the password before the first deadline on 21st Aug at 1830. Entries to the mini-league will be accepted up to the deadline for GW3, but I'd much prefer if you're in from the start, stops people selecting multiple teams and entering their best starter!

There IS a Putney scummers related rule this season - don't bang on about people having that sh*t in their team, last season got a bit tiresome with it. Anyone can set up a 'strict' league with that rule if they so wish, I'm sure a separate thread will be allowed.

Fulham players could be worth it (if we're being objective and not following the no Putney rule) from GW6-GW8 as they play all the promoted teams consecutively.

I mean I don't plan on getting Fulham players any time soon. If it were any other team having all three promoted teams back to back to back I'd be all over it all though, that was the point I was trying to make.

Kayode is a lock for me at 4.5m. Fixtures out of the equation and subject to Hato or Jair Cunha nailing down a spot, he's probably the best option at that price point.

Have picked Yarmo at 5.0m as a cheap enabler, but will be interesting to see what price Sangare comes in at ()

I'm not expecting Igor to get 10 penalties again, and he might not play the full 90 every week now that we've signed Wilson, but he's in for me as well as it stands

Did have schade in, but the transfer rumours might sway me off. Janelt did well for his price last season so might go with him. Would get damsgaard but his minutes are always abit iffy

I had Kayode and Thiago all season last year.
My third Bee changed during the season but I'm thinking Dango or Yarmo to have a big season.

If Sepp is indeed out for several weeks then Ajer should be guaranteed his place. He offers much more Def Con potential than Kayode for the same price.

Maybe not initially from the start with him coming back late from the World Cup. Schuster could see some early minutes

We spent a lot of money on him but Schuster is still very raw. The RB Salzburg supporters were astonished at his transfer because he hadn't stood out even in the Austrian league. We've obviously seen something in him that we like very much but I think he's been brought in more for his longer term development potential than any short term first team impact. Benji Arthur has about the same experience at a similar level of football after his loan last season. As long as Ajer is fit I'd imagine he's straight in the side.

Never a fan of a GW1 Bench Boost. I understand the reasoning behind it but it's the time of year when we have least information available to us and is most difficult to identify nailed starters. Its also when we have the tightest budget. By November or December we'll know much more about which teams to target, have a selection of newly emerged good value budget enablers and probably another £2m in team value.

For those still really keen on an early Bench Boost GW2 looks better with Coventry at home to Hull.

I've seen nothing about him being injured but could be wrong on that of course. Plus the positives of having a flexible squad with the bench boost means that I could bench him!

Still thinking of a couple of changes. But hard to find value if I do want to go with Haaland, IT, Bruno, and Palmer. Could be tempted to do without Haaland...but is that just the sniff test gone wrong as I really dislike Maresca? And I'd replace him with Pedro...who it's hard to like...Would allow me to pick Bryan, though...

Has a higher defcon rate per 90 than even Anderson at Forest last year. In a different league of course but that's enough for me to consider him!

You'd probably have to be more specific about what it's telling you. I set up an authentication method at the start of last season because the site recommended it. Only kept it a couple of weeks in the end because it was such a faff every time I wanted to get in. If you set that up like me then it might be an idea.

Norgaard for Everton if he gets the minutes could be strong for defcons and maybe attacking returns too. Think that's gone under the radar.

With our midfield there’s probably very few guaranteed starters.

Assuming everyone 100% fit and up to speed you might say Dams and Sangaré and that leaves one spot….

Is that Janelt (better than Yarmo last year), Yarmo, or Milambo (bought to upgrade the midfield which already had them both).

I definitely won’t be picking Yarmo in FF personally!

I've had a couple of people say the same thing to me about a small league I run. I think sometimes people create a new team/account rather than just re-instating last seasons team/account. In those instances they don't get auto enrolled into last years leagues.

They didn't seem to think he'd be a starter. The caveat, of course, is that a few random Everton supporters on Reddit can be no more certain about it than we can about exactly how our midfield will line up.
