He really is more unlikeable than Rory Jennings in my opinion, who is just an uninformed little Chelsea mug who for some reason dislikes us, probably because we always win at Stamford Bridge. But Max Scott is very much your stereotypical Notts Forest fan, just completely blinkered and every time he goes on about Mr Marinakis it makes my stomach churn.
💯 this!!
I know TalkSport isn't everyone's cup of tea, but there are a few shows/presenters worth listening to - Hawksbee & Jacobs; Charlie Baker, Tony Cascarino, Darren Bent are all decent, and even Gabby Agbonlahor does his bit as a "Pantomime Villain" (literally!!) and most shows are listenable if you can ignore the "phone-bait" aspect of the content.
But if I'm ever listening, and Scott is on, I'll go out of my way to turn it back off for precisely that reason!!!

Unfortunately there seems to be a proliferation of Forest fans on Radio Sports shows, with Matt Forde and Matt Dyson also presenting Rock and Roll Football on Absolute Radio!!! :banghead:
So I also don't listen to that now either!!!
Maybe Forest really are "massive" after all!!!

Yep, I listen a lot. And agree with your list, I quite like Andy Goldstein too as despite being a wind up he makes me laugh quite regularly.

Couldn’t agree any less apart from Hawksbee and Jacob’s although that’s getting stale now.See you missed off Simon Jordan who is head and shoulders above the rest of the talentless presenters stealing a living on that joke of a sports radio station.

Don't really listen to Talksport, but any time I've seen Jordan on anything, I've always thought him a "Pound Shop Steve Parish", the difference being that while Jordan talks about what he knows - and nobody else does - Parish just gets on and does it.

So that when comparing their respective times at Palace, Jordan - who had had his pants pulled down by Ron Noades - departed after the club went into administration, while Parish has taken them to unprecedented success.

Yeah, but Simon Jordan was responsible for getting The Specials back together.

Simon Jordan pretends to know stuff and no doubt he's somewhat ITK about certain things. But I can't bear his embarrassing attempts at trying to come across as articulate and very often uses a word completely out of context. He rarely get's pulled up on it as most of the listeners probably don't understand what the meaning of said word is anyway. I'd argue he's actually more knowledgeable about boxing than he is about football now.

Agreed. He's a pompous *****. Except not sure he knows that much about boxing either, but it’s enjoyable when he digs out Eddie Hearn.

Simon Jordan usually only has good things to say about us though 🤷

Jordan invested and lost his own money Parish is a mouth piece for someone elses money.

And that makes Jordan the cleverer of the two?

Though maybe it explains this: Simon Jordan brands Crystal Palace owner Steve Parish 'a weasel' in GB News interview

Which, of course, was said during an interview with Michelle Dewbury. Who is otherwise known as "Mrs. Simon Jordan". (Or "Poor Cow"?)

Anyhow, I'd be interested to know which of the two Palace fans would prefer as Chairman?

Simon Jordan is a talksport pundit and Steve Parish isn't so i'm not sure why you're comparing them on a thread about talksport pundits ;)

Hawksbee&Jacobs is OKish but Jacobs is a plonker and takes up a seat at the Gtech.
Don't know about Charlie Baker as he must come on when I don't listen.
Darren Bent seems to just be the dumb one for Andy The Ego Goldstein to have a go at whilst not ranting about some other nonsense.
Agbonlahor much the same as Bent.
O'Hara and Jennings....oh dear god.
Cundy and Saunders....oh dear god.
Simon Jordan does make a good point once in a while but it's generally sandwiched between 20 egomaniac comments and big words he's looked up that day in a thesaurus and tried to not mangle.
Shebahn "just there for the creepy old blokes" Aherne....particularly Alan "creepy" Brazil.

Jeff Stelling is good though 🤣

So I guess I'm with @Bill Benn on this one.

That'd be Stelling on a discussion on relegation from the EPL next season........."and then you have to mention Brentford. Just because they're Brentford".

I thought he knew his football. Clearly not.

When he talks, Jordan gives the impression that he knows more than everyone else etc, and is never slow to criticise others. Which is fair enough, I suppose, if your "job" is to provoke comment and generate clickbait etc (The "TalkSport Robbie Savage", if you like.)

But I brought up Parish since I remembered Jordan's "weasel" comment about him. For I personally think Jordan a bluffer, with Parish's success at Palace directly showing up Jordan's lack of success when they were both required to do a "proper job". You know, "Walking the Walk" (SP), as compared to "Talking the Talk" (SJ).

But heyho, it's all about contrasting opinions, which are the very lifeblood"TalkSport", I suppose.

In his defence, this was for candidates on top of the promoted 3, and listed Palace, Fulham, Sunderland, Brentford, and even Spurs.
So that's nearly half the division including the promoted sides.
It wasn't particularly serious 🤣
I can forgive Jeff this one.

I'd rather listen to an articulate but occasionally mispronounced Jordan than someone with a 20 word vocabulary like most of the dead heads on there.

Sad that we've got to the point where being articulate is seen as showing off.
It's showing off when the person ISN'T articulate and tries to use big words to sound smarter than they are (and often mangles/misuses them). That's the point.

Talksport discussion incl Simon Jordan.

I find Jordan interesting and he’s by far the most knowledgeable of the regular presenters. I do also enjoy Goldstein & bent on drivetime. The rest are painful to listen to…topped off by Ohara and Cundy who I can’t stand for more than a couple of minutes before having to turn off. Their late night show is horrific. I’ve equally really enjoyed listening to darragh MacAnthony. His discussion earlier in the week about seeing cup runs as pure money spinners was refreshingly honest and intriguing.

Hawksbee and Jacobs/ Baker

Absolutely superb radio.
I have to make sure I’m on the car for the birthday spread on a Thursday afternoon.
Real laugh out loud stuff at times.

I didn't say he had done nothing with his life and was a proper thickie.
That's completely different from being articulate.
Wayne Rooney's done a lot in his life, and is worth hundreds of millions, but he'd probably struggle to spell lettuce....

Strange because I find Jordan articulate. I like the way he makes the complex simple. He's a clear thinker and in my view, a very good communicator.

No problem that others see it differently.

Arguably things haven't worked out for him how they might have. From multi millionaire, then owner of Palace and now a radio pundit with a net worth of about 10% of what it was. He's not skint but clearly needs to work which wouldn't have been the case had he invested his millions in something other than a football club. On that basis I'd argue Steve Parrish is possibly a little shrewder, albeit maybe not as garrulous.

I don't mind Jordan (much). As I said, he does at least occasionally make a good point, but he's just a bit of an egomaniac and regularly mangles/misuses big words when he shoehorns them in. Doesn't mean he can't cut to the chase as you say.
He also will often put an end to some of the sycophancy of Jim White 🤮
For that reason alone he has merit.

Yes, I was on there for BIAS just before the Swansea playoff final. The producer warned me that Simon is very antagonistic but actually I found him very good and he agreed with everything I said.

Their best stuff is on a Sunday imo. 9:00 Sunday Edition with Shaun Custis and Henry Winter. 11:00 The Warm Up with Max Rushden and Barry Glendenning - one of the best shows on radio. Entertaining and very funny.

I'd nearly consider interrupting my usual Sunday morning lie-in for that, since I am a big fan of Henry Winter. I mean, how the Sunday Times sacked him off for that ****** Martin Samuel is beyond me.

But I did say "nearly", so sorry Henry, I'm just going to go on hitting the snooze button until my usual Sunday morning head clears.

If I got up at 9:00 on a Sunday, I would already have had a significant lie-in. You’re not a teenager, are you?

Gotta say I generally enjoy Talksport. Find myself agreeing with SJ 95% of the time, so he’s obviously pretty smart 🤔
The H part of H&J is clever, funny and a proper football fan. The J part, not so much.
Baker is funny and knows his non league stuff. Rushton is hit and miss funny but also has proper deep football knowledge. Like that they support Torquay and
Cambridge respectively.
It’s the newer upstarts like Jennings, Scott, oh and Cundy and O’Hara, who have nothing intelligent to say so just provoke reaction with stupid controversial statements who let the side down.
Just listened in the car to some nonsense about Notts being the fourth biggest club in Britain. Had to switch it off.

Trans Europe Express is pretty good and informative.
Always liked H & J.
Martin Kellner through the night is good too.
