Interesting to how it aligns with the most attended leagues in the world (2024 data, though I can’t imagine too much has changed).
YesAnd is League 2 really very significantly inferior to the League of Ireland......
As shown by the considerable improvement in the UEFA coefficient the league has gone through significant change in that time period. It still has a way to come in terms of its facilities and other off pitch areas but it is a league on the rise.Fair enough. The matches I attended 20 years ago seemed to me to be League 2/National League level but I know that it's been professionalised on and off the pitch quite a bit since then and interest in it is growing.
Eredivisie at 20 seems odd.
Last season it was one of the most competitive leagues in Europe, as mentioned on the BBC Sport website. While Lech Poznań, Legia Warszawa and before that Wisła Kraków have had spells of dominance, there have been 9 different Champions in the past 20 years.p
Agreed, especially with the Polish league well above them. I've seen two Polish games in 10 years or so therefore feel well qualified to say its rubbish.
