Tottenham (H) Sat 22nd August

Michael Oliver referees this game. He has replaced Anthony Taylor as the EPL senior official apparently. Big club again...

Tottenham (H) Sat 22nd August

Spurs have spent a rumoured £237m in this window on 7 incomings, of which 4-5 will be likely starters. Even if we start 2 new players, that would give minimal disruption to our style of play. Spurs will have better players than us in most positions but our cohesion, with a smaller squad to be coached, ought to give us an advantage, particularly if De Zerbi tinkers during the game.
Very much disagree they will have better players in most positions. We hold the edge at CF, RB, probably LB the way KLP is playing. Our wingers are dangerous. They will not have van der ven and I think our CBs are their equals removed off that. We have edge at keeper.

Spurs have a load of new faces who will take time to gel add to that they have lost Spence and that thug Romero (sure Igor will have raised a smile when he saw that) and we owe them a drubbing.
I agree. This is the perfect time to play that shower.

OK more highly rated players, particularly in midfield; but I think Van der Ven, Porro, Maddison, Kudos have had few or no pre-season minutes, they will probably start Richarlison up front. Our advantage will be the whole team playing together to plan.

Agree! They have some good players. We have the better TEAM.

I am concentrating on Rennes first then Frankfurt, by then we will be up to speed to knock the living daylight out of Spurs, not just talking about the team, us supporters need the pre season warm up as well 😄 👍🐝🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺😎👊

....must be the Norfolk air, but I've got on Sky super6, Bees to beat Spuds 3-1, and that was before the Rennes & Frankfurt games

Tottenham (H) Sat 22nd August

I hope Sengaré doesn’t give Oliver an opportunity to brandish a yellow card early on.

A bigger club to us in every aspect, but they are still an embarrassment.

Tottenham (H) Sat 22nd August

All prem games are fine margins. If we take our chances we will win. We are creating lots of opportunities. No silly mistakes please. Don't worry about launching the ball if a pass isn't on at the back.

Tottenham (H) Sat 22nd August

First game always high profile but not sure it’s significant across the season BUT having said that it could put down a massive marker for us. I admit to being ridiculously excited and nervous . Hotel booked, dinner booked come on guys make it perfect!! COYB

Tottenham (H) Sat 22nd August

And didn’t score a goal.

We’re well overdue against them especially at home.
The home Tottenham game was almost as bad as the home Arsenal game last year. In fact, I think those two were the candidates for the worst games I watched. I thought these big clubs would come to play. Hilarious to watch them waste time and cynically foul for over 90 minutes.

Here’s hoping we get a win at the weekend.

The home arsenal game where we were superb and equalised late on in a brilliant atmosphere?

The Arsenal game? Surely not. Perhaps our best home performance last season, along with the Man Utd and Liverpool games!

From the match day guide on the official site:

"For our fans in the west stand, wave the flags placed on your seat (please leave your flag on your seat before you leave the stadium)"

Have i missed the joke?

Tottenham (H) Sat 22nd August

No joke, I just find it amusing that they're trying to orchestrate some flag waving, and then want the flags back at the end of the game...
Probably better than finding them on the side of the road all across the borough of Hounslow.

Tottenham (H) Sat 22nd August

But we are not pundits, we are just discussing the potential line up.
Exactly, what a weird post

I think it's probably a good time to play them, they still have a lot of quality but our team is a top half prem team with a major signing for central midfield added... and touch wood no other injuries. They are a bunch of quality individuals still on a whole and the more injuries they have he merrier.

Sorry, but I am missing your point. What's wrong with wanting the flags aback the end of the game? I've obviously missing something obvious here....

OK, it's just me then.

Err, my seat tips up and is next to an exit. At a rough guess 40 fans will trample over my flag at the end of the game….

Tottenham (H) Sat 22nd August

🙏 no last minute injuries in training today.
Let's go 🐝!
COYB'S from 5.30pm tomorrow.
Let's all get behind the team tomorrow from the start.
Final destiny in May 2027 is Europe season 2027-28 👍

Tottenham (H) Sat 22nd August

Struggling to understand why there seems to be concern about Spurs signing players who might be eligible to play on Saturday.

They’ll not have had a proper pre-season at their previous club and have had no time to integrate into their new team. Even if they do sign in time, they’re highly unlikely to start, or even play. If they sign in time, play on Saturday and do well, it’s just random noise.

Let’s enjoy that we have a settled, almost completely fit, and exceptionally talented squad. Whoever starts, we will cause Spurs problems all over the pitch and if things need changing we’ll have options off the bench.
Very, very excited for tomorrow.

Tottenham (H) Sat 22nd August

Are both the club shops open pre match tomorrow?

Website is a little unclear if it's 10am or 2 hours pre kick off 🤔

Tottenham (H) Sat 22nd August

I know there might be some twist and turns in the next three weeks but I couldn't wait any longer :ROFLMAO:

I can't remember being this excited for the season to start for a while. Obviously first promotion season.
We have a large squad, a good sign. However I will still be pleased when transfer window is closed. This has to be the best time to play Spurs. We have had a magnificent pre-season and Spurs are still developing their squad. I think we will need a cup run to keep all in the camp happy. Got tickets for Birmingham not the best away ground.
