Must admit - with the new rules protecting goalkeepers at corners they don't look like scoring from that particular set piece. And they got an awful lot that way last time out.

I understand that if you give the ball away in your own third, bad things happen, but if that Coventry keeper is like this all season, they are going straight down

They’ve looked more imaginative, and every bit as dangerous, with the routines they’ve used tonight.

Ridiculous knee jerk reactions on here over Coventry's long-term prospects.

They totally predictably get thumped away to the league champions, who just beat Man C by the same scoreline. Could well have been worse than 3-0.

Predictions of going down, which they may well do, but tonight's result will have no impact on it.

Were some expecting them to carve out a load of chances? Just daft.

one of the reasons I think they’re nailed on to win it is that this season we’ll see a far more free flowing arsenal.

There was so much pressure on Arteta and that team to prove the bottle job shouters, including me, wrong that their approach to every game was incredibly deliberate and efficient.

I think now you’ll see a far more dominant creative side and ultimately assured aside. The corner change will affect them very little

Someone quickly tell me if i'm thick and uninformed here. Why was Arsenal v Coventry the first game of the season on a Friday night? Was this the chosen fixture to show by the broadcaster? Could they have chosen Hull v Man Utd or Brentford v Spurs, or Newcastle v Liverpool?

Sorry if im being stupid here but what a dreadful pick if so, no jeopardy in it at any point and there was never going to be either. If they were away to Coventry then 100%, but they weren't.

Agree to a large extent but EPL Champions v EFL Champions would have been the draw I guess.

Yep losing to Arsenal won't make any difference. They'll probably also lose to Liverpool away, man city etc like we all do most seasons. It's all the other games that will decide it
