Surely you must know what's going on. The questions are being asked by the club's media guy. He is not paid to ask questions that require a great deal of thinking by the footballer being questioned. I gave up with such player interactions years ago, but I can understand why they are formatted in the way that they are. You can't ask a guy that is only interesting in kicking a ball around questions that require nimble thought and agility when the only reason he is standing that is because the ball went directly from his foot into the goal.

Really? Genuinely? I’ll happily bow to you as you’re closely connected and know the individuals involved, but…that’s seems very reductive.

We’re talking about intelligent, articulate people who speak multiple languages, and given the research involved in recruitment we’re signing smart people who can take on complex instructions.

I’ve no problem with their answers, see how engaging and interesting KA Is in his interviews. Schade looks frustrated at the witless banal questions and would expand if given the opportunity.

These aren’t the likes of Bates/Hurlock/Allon etc who would be just “yer know, like I say, errr” etc, see how they are when filmed in community engagement events and they seem sparky and willing to open up.

Just seems strange and a wasted opportunity most of the time.

Its not claptrap. It was my opinion of Chris's interviewing style. Nothing personal towards Chris. I'm sure he has many other skills the Club values. My issue at the time was the use of closed and leading questions rather than open ones.

It has been done well before by a Club employee / interviewer and that was Rebus. He asked good questions but also (as we'd all expect), never overstepped the line.

It's just my opinion and others will no doubt have a different take.

Many of the TV player interviews are a little bit later when they’ve had time to unpack their emotions and, personally, I’d prefer that as you’ll probably get better answers to better structured questions rather than instant gratification.

Comparing any player to Keith is ridiculous as he’s had a lot of media training and experience, both asking and answering.

Still only 24. One could argue he had a small step back last season, compared to the 24/25 season. If he is able to find his place well, it could be time for him to take that next big step forward. I'm not exactly predicting a 20 goal season this year but I do think it is likely he scores over 10 league goals this season... comfortably.

He’s going to get bumped around again against PL defenders where last season, when it happened and he didn’t get the decision, he seemed to go into a strop, losing focus leading to a big change in body language - which led to the spectators also getting riled up, too.

Let’s hope we don’t see these reactions too often when the season starts.

With him interchanging with Thiago and Dango he will become the middle striker on occasion and if the others can find him in space then he will get more chances. Similarly, the other two will benefit, too.

After Saturday’s performance I’m hoping that what we saw is his base level and he gets a good run of games and does well.

Yes excellent today. He looked very dangerous. Thought he looked double focused and bang on it.

I'm genuinely not attempting to be proactive here. I thought his overall body language looked very positive today. (No, not smiles). At one point he busted a gut to support the defence and got a huge clap of appreciation from the North Stand, the ball went out and there was a little acknowledgment to the crowd as to say " nice one" Looked a little less frustrated with himself.
