Looked but couldn’t find a thread.

I was wondering if anyone can recall a better debut in a Bees shirt than Sangare’s?

I can only recall John Bostock coming anywhere close.

Thoughts across the eras?

Andy Sinton cant remember any details but came just after the holy trinity,Hurlock,Kamara and Bowles was broken up.

Marcus Bent. I showed up late for the game. He was a surprise starter up front with Carl Asaba and looked a class above right away! Straight out of our youth team! Think he struck the bar from distance early on and caused the oppo all sorts of problems.
Having said that you would have to go a long way to beat Nicky Forster's rampant debut in the 5-1 opening day away win at Plymouth who were promotion favourites at the time.

John Dick 1962 v Exeter won 3-1 and he scored - I was 14 at the time and thought he was the dogs bollox having been signed from top side West Ham for a then record fee for the Bees. ( £17,500 )

Brentford: Cakebread, Coote, Gitsham, Crowe, Gelson, Higginson, Block, Summers, McAdams, Dick, McLeod.

Exeter City:- Tinsley, Smyth , MacDonald, Hughes, Anderson, Sanders; Welsh, Mitchell, Green, Carter, Jenkins.

Referee:- Mr C.F.Duxbury of Preston. Linesmen: Messrs F.Thoday and S.A.Hibbs.

Ah yes remember it well , nearly got thrown out just before the pen , Was right up against the fence that separated the away fans in New Road , some Bury fan made a complaint about me , bizarre situation I had honestly done bugger all .

Anyway was going to say Bob Booker but think that was home debut , the hat trick against Hull?

Best debut since his previous two against Rennes and Frankfurt where he was equally impressive.

Again, I was there at Griffin Park.
It was December 1985, Andy Sinton had been brought from Cambridge for £25,000.
Bentford's management team was Frank McLintock and John Docherty (later to link up at Millwall).

To a lesser extent, Shay Logan at right back looked to just level us up on an opening day of the season (2011 maybe), could see a clear upgrade from years before.

John Bostock. 2 goals on his debut in November 2009.

Looked like he might be the real deal. Went downhill very quickly after that.

😂 Sorry! I wasn’t taking the pee. Just trying to stress how good I think this player is going to be. Having watched both pre-season games, I was not at all surprised by the quality of his league debut.

Martin Rowlands in 98 was unplayable that day.

Christian Eriksens second half cameo vs Newcastle showed us what he was all about.

Sangare on Saturday.
You can just see de Zerbi asking "why didnt you sign him and their keeper,full backs,defenders,midfielders,strikers and their bench ?.
You give me frigging Tonali."

Remember seeing a kid score on his debut away to Gillingham. Thorne, uncertain on his first name, maybe Mark or Martin. We won 0-1, and think it was his only game for us. His name was used for a fanzine.

The overhead kick was against Oldham a few weeks later but yeah that debut goal against FG was still a very tidy finish.

I had such high hopes for Billy Eames c.1978, scored on his debut v Lincoln City at Griffin Parķ in the Ealing Road goal, only ever played one more game and was never seen again in a Brentford shirt.
