Yes, hard to disagree...having seen him play a pre season game a couple of weeks before (maybe at Farnborough Town or Maidenhead on a Tuesday night? Anyone help my fuzzy memory) I was looking forward to seeing if he could do it at 'league level' and he smashed it.All nonsense aside, I remember Martin Rowlands being very impressive on his debut against Mansfield in the opening match of the 1998/99 season. Came in as a kid from Farnborough and totally ran the show
I think Joe scored in his first 6 or 7 games, either that season 82 or the next one.Think Francis Joseph scored a brace ?
See him at Chesham as A Trailist. earlier was told by his Dad who he was.Yes, hard to disagree...having seen him play a pre season game a couple of weeks before (maybe at Farnborough Town or Maidenhead on a Tuesday night? Shame about the subsequent shenanigans but he was impressive to begin...

Won 6 nil I believe he was way above everyone on the pitch that night.

One of my earliest memories of Brentford games. Looking forward to seeing a quality ball playing midfielder and we just hoofed it over him the entire gamePaul Davis![]()
Wasn't his debut. Played in '78 against Watford.Bob Booker debut v Hull in December 79
Bees 7 Hull 2 Booker bagged a hat trick that day
Did Bob Booker also score a worldie that game? I was with 2 Gills step brothers in the main stand (that shack to the left of the away end before they replaced it) *sitting on hands smilie* “hello Ken”Mark Janney (spelling) sub scored at Gillingford for a 2-1 win in the late 90s never to be seen again ?
If only we'd have lost that FA Cup tie, rather than it going to a replay, Mahoney wouldn't have broken his leg. The wheels came off after that.Yes. 5-1 win over Bristol Rovers. Tony Mahoney, another debutant, also scored. What a team we had going forward in 82/83. We really should have finished a lot higher than 9th.
Back in pub before about 320And on a day hotter than the Sahara. What an arsehole![]()

Tranmere v Brentford

Sorry Warfield, & my memory ain't that great either ........McAdams 2, Ward 2, Brooks 2, O.G. Fox, Hales, & Summers. When Dai Ward got 4 against Wrexham wasn't that his debut, memory is failing me I am afraid
Nathan Elder is a cracking shout. Good game that and good celebrations as he ran through and scored. Some memorable debuts for me:
Jay Tabb - saw him warming up and his shirt number said something like 15, and I remember thinking that looks like it's probably about how old he is. Then he came on as a sub and was instantly a level above the others.
John Bostock - already mentioned here
Nathan Elder - away at Mansfield scored an own goal but also a one-on-one right in front of us. Fun times!
Thanks, for some reason I thought he got four (Old timers deseaseSorry Warfield, & my memory ain't that great either ........McAdams 2, Ward 2, Brooks 2, O.G. Fox, Hales, & Summers.
