I did hear somewhere that Brighton failing to qualify for the group stages would be a significant blow to the English coefficient and is one of the biggest risks to a fifth CL spot. No idea how accurate that is, mind.

The most direct impact on us is
Do you want our trip there in November to be moved to Sunday? If not then you'd prefer them to lose.

Agree that individually, BHA's progress/lack thereof won't make much difference.
But as regards your 9 clubs, to work out a country's co-efficient, UEFA divides points gained by the number of clubs entered i.e. the average score.
This rewards strength in depth, where England score highly, at the expense of countries which have one or two big clubs (France? Scotland?), but the rest are rubbish.
Anyhow, one small consolation for Bees not making Europe is that for those others who did, their league form may well suffer from congestion. Or at least those clubs with smaller squads and/or limited European experience (BHA, Sunderland, Bournemouth etc)
